This is also the last known variant which stylus supports bluetooth, useful for taking pictures with pen button click. S25U was a dealbreaker.

It's a great phone, but the popularity of the deal is absurd.
I am glad that I was able to score Walmart deal for $475 couple months ago. That was great deal, this one is just meh in front of that
what was that
Phones like these lose like 80% of their value after 3 years. There's really no need to be upgrading phones often.
I bought a Note 20 Ultra a couple of years ago for $200. I can sell it back for $200 right now.
Will upgrade to the S24 Ultra in a couple of years when it will be around $250 and my Note 20 Ultra will be $180. $70 upgrade.
That's a good way to look at these flagship phones. The fall off from value comes from demand and the ones who spend money have high disposable income (which are the main consumers these are sold to). the turnover with people upgrading phones from these same people is quite high because a lot of them just have to have the latest. at most, they hold onto the phone for 2 years. now you got former flagship phones that are 2 years or older and they just drop in value to 20% or 30% of their MSRP, although you have to dig for places that offer them at those low prices.
Once a car hits like 7 years old, it loses like 70% of its value and the most you'll lose after driving it is around 10%.
I used to upgrade phones every two years when I was younger.
When you get older, you realize it's just the same with slight improvements in camera quality and processing speed. I've learned to just use it until it breaks or is too slow for modern apps. If it can call, text, browse videos, and take good photos, I'm not going to spend my time and money to make incremental upgrades.

color does not matter these days and covers kill that aspect of the phone anyway.
1.5 years ago I paid about same with a trade of my note 10+.

Or maybe everyone who loves this deal is wrong and you're right. Either way I'm pretty sure this post isn't the demise of Slickdeals.

Heck, if anything a lot of stuff has regressed in these new flagship phones.headphone jack removal, no more microSD card slot, removable battery and my most wanted feature of the fingerprint sensor is now on the screen which isn't as fast/reliable as a physical one.
I'm running with a Fold 4 and the screen is quite durable but it crapped out on me after just short of 3 years owning it since the main cable inside behind the screen just wore off. and the cable can't just be replaced. it has to be the whole screen since it's nearly part of the screen. the whole phone enclosure is adhesive/glue based so it's quite the ordeal to remove it (heck, to even put it all back together). So I"m here looking for a new phone after enjoying the fold for nearly 3 years. I remember they did a test with folding and unfolding the phone thousands and thousands of times but the reality is, the durability isn't realistically tested when those physical folds don't factor in the aging of internals by weathering and long term temperatures. I have to use the phone closed at the moment until I find a good deal but I can still use it like normal , just without the unfolded screen. Good enough for me until a Slick deal comes up during Black Friday. I would highly recommend trading in your phone before the 2 year or 3 year mark depending on your usage. I babied my phone and never really dropped it. the screen protector was the first thing that wore off. the overall value of owning the phone is still good personally because I only paid approximately $550 out of pocket for a $1800 phone.
