If you have an older CPU that's less powerful than a Ryzen 5 5600X or a 12th Gen Intel, I would highly suggest you avoid the Arc B580. There's a serious overhead issue with older CPU's. You need a higher end CPU to extract the full performance from this card. It's really unfortunate, because we really need more competition against Nvidia, and even AMD.

This is not really a deal. When this card first came out, it was priced at $309. Now it is always at $250. I purchased it at the original price, and I thought it was great... until I played a game with autosaves. Intel's drivers cause huge CPU and/or SSD load under certain circumstances, autosaves (in my case) being one of them. This results in a glitchy/stuttering experience that was so noticeable that I couldn't enjoy playing the game (Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts). Apparently, this issue still persists for lower spec'd systems. Mine is a Core i5-13500 with 32GB DDR5 7200 RAM and Samsung 990 Pro SSD. Read up on this type of problem online before you commit to an ARC GPU. I really, really want Intel to succeed to break up the duopoly of NVidia and AMD, but right now their drivers are not good, as this issue persists.

Im not big on gaming anymore so I haven't jumped the gun on any upgrades in about a decade. On paper this doesn't seem to bad for price looking at vram but anyone have experience actually gaming on this? My 980ti is showing its age bad. I play all kinds of games on 1080p, mostly single player rpgs and want to play Soulslike games like Lies Of P, Wuchang, etc

Thank u for this, weird a LTT vid didn't come up when I attempted research. Looks I'll pass and shell about a bit for a 9060 XT 16 GB, longer longevity and better drivers

I guess if you need a white card for an aesthetic this is your option. I would prefer the Intel OEM card at the same price.

I just got one to replace an aging 1660 Super. It is much better than I expected. On Windows 11 drivers seem to work perfectly, but I did not have as smooth of an experience with Linux, but eventually got it functioning reasonably. Nvidia is still a much better choice for Linux, but if you are using Windows, I'd recommend that you jump on it.

I was gonna get one of these, but I got a 3060 instead. Intel's graphics card usually requires you to turn on resizable bar which I wasn't sure if my PC supported this.

It's basically a 1080TI from 10 years ago but new. Not knocking it if you're playing in 1080p it'll run pretty much anything.
1080Ti loses driver support this year. It also won't play newer games that require hardware ray tracing.

You can just disable ray tracing(or it's automatically disabled with cards without RT) in every game I've seen so far. I just got rid of my 1080 and it could still run most games at 1440p on med/high settings.
