I think they were on sale for around $200 about a year ago.
I bought the wedge sole ones. They're not as dressy, but I absolutely love them.

Love mine but they don't last. The soles wear out extremely fast.

Yep, my heel wore out after 2 months. I would not buy it again.

Are these worth $280? I've been casually looking at boots like this; Iron rangers, Thursday Captain StormKing, Loake, etc. Should I pounce on this, or will I see this price a lot?
"timeless style" or a real hand lasted work boot like Whites? There is a huge difference in support, comfort and durability which people who work outdoors in extreme environments don't mind paying more for. Desk jockeys not so much. It's all about the construction not just the use of good leather for the uppers. If just buying style then it can be had for much less.

Can someone confirm these are not the cheap Wolverine brand? I bought a pair of wolverine's for around $100 and they were shit, fell apart very quickly.
In my opinion, 1000 Mile is the only high quality boot that Wolverine makes. It's made in the USA with a 360 degree Goodyear welt, so it can be resoled. If I remember correctly, it even has a midsole which makes resoling simple and potentially cheaper.

Wearing out the heel is very common for all boots. You can put on a heel plate to considerably extend the life of the heel. And when it's time to replace the heel, it's cheap (unless you waited too long and wore into the heel stack.)

Like others, I also got these when they were $199.99 last year. There was 8% cashback via another site, and an Amex $25 back on $100 offer (up to 2x)

Bought a wolverine gift card for $200, got back $50 from Amex, plus $16 from buying the gift card (shouldn't have worked) and another $16 when buying the boots.

As others noted on the old thread, Wolverine may give you a partial refund for defects if you ask. They gave me back $30 of the gift card for some loose stitching

$118 OOP plus a $30 gift card to buy some of their "less well made" hiking boots a few months later. Pretty slick!

Just my experience, but I had a pair of iron rangers that I replaced with these 1000 mile last year. I prefer the iron rangers by a pretty good margin. Not saying these are crap at all, but if I'm spending that kind of money I know what I'm getting next time.

Love my iron rangers too. Also love my White's MP service boots in black. Picked up both on eBay for about $250 each (iron rangers were new, white's were used, they're normally $500-600 lol). i will keep them both forever. I had a pair of 1K miles too but consensus is the iron ranger is a better boot even if a little less dressy.

I'm looking for a good dressy-ish goodyear welted boot, is it going to be allen edmonds higgins mill?

my heels didn't wear out, it was the leather sole that wore out, down to the cork

Wish I was into the look, too work booty for me. Solid pair of boots.
Visually they look more like dress boots than work boots to me to be honest.

What does that mean in regards to these?
These are NOT throwaway shoes/boots.These are designed to be resoled by a shoe cobbler. If you need an idea of what this is, you can search on YouTube the name of these boots and resole. The break in period lasts around a week. Once that's done, you need to get a quality shoe conditioner and use it once every few weeks based on your use/wears and weather.I got the brown ones from a previous sale here in Slickdeals. I normally wear size 9 in Nikes and I ordered size 8. Size accordingly.

Try Thursday rugged line. The vibram sole will likely last a lot longer but they aren't as dressy.

The boots being sold in this thread don't have leather outsoles, they have Vibram rubber outsoles. So for anyone considering this deal, the wear rate of leather outsoles won't come into play.
