how about this one - I bought a new Asus nuc about a month ago and called their help desk because I was struggling to it up to install a new nvme drive. the tier 1 help agent did not know what an nvme drive was. I said thanks. I'll figure it out.
D'oh!!!!!!! Did you figure it out?

Do sata m.2 drives work or not? There is so many conflicting info
The item description says it supports both M and M+B key SSD. According to this article https://www.kingston.com/en/blog/...-m2-vs-ssd a SATA m.2 SSD has the M+B key. So a SATA m.2 drive should work with this enclosure.
RTL9210B chipset should work in theory with M.2 SATA SSDs. Product description does not mention anything about SATA. Amazon reviews say no M.2 SATA support. Can someone actually confirm compatibility? SATA may not be supported due to firmware limitations. What is probability of breaking the enclosure by flashing it with firmware from another source?

You guys need to stop buying this stuff.

You keep buying, they keep making jank.

ASM2464pd is the only Gen4 enclosure chip worth buying.

Got the enclosure. Disappointed that the enclosure is mostly plastic except the top handle. If it doesn't dissipate heat well I'll return it

When I asked the question in the web page, the AI answered "The enclosure of the FIDECO M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure is made of aluminum." I hope it's correct, but even if the whole case is aluminum I doubt it will have good cooling ability since it doesn't look like the drive will have direct contact with the case with some heat sink paste, and the case has no fins. I'm skeptical how effective the heat thermal pad it uses will be. The good thing is with the easy to use lid I don't mind using it with the lid up to help cooling if it gets hot.

I'd like to know too. I did a quick search and the ones I saw cost several times of the one in the OP, and reviews not necessarily better, though generally have nicer enclosures.

I think it's really dead this time. Ordered the Ugreen mentioned above instead. Using this to clone the Legion Go drive to replace it with 2tb.

Lifting the lid up will make the nvme chips contact air which is a thermal insulator. You would want it to make contact with metal (or metal with fins) to cool it down

Gotta love these sellers who activate a coupon code, hit #1 in the sales in their category and then deactivate the code.
They got what they wanted.
