The Depot has some Dewalt 5.0 Powerstack batteries on sale for an in store clearance price of $50.25. This is a YMMV deal. The link will likely change your store to the Monrovia, CA store, so be sure to change your store back to your own local store and check all the stores in your area to see if any of them have them at this price. This can be done by checking the "Check Nearby Stores" link on the battery's page. The inventory I'm seeing is in the following states; CA, TX, AZ, ID, IL, FL, CO, NJ, MA, TN, VA, MI, IA, NY and GA per https://homedepot.deal/state-list/all-states/.

Internet # 319702237
Model # DCBP520
Store SKU # 1007422217

I hear you. I managed to snag one of these at this price last week. Got super lucky as it was the last one in stock. My store was also supposed to have a pair of Husky Work Tables with router inserts for $25 each, but they were nowhere to be found. HD employees have told me that if there's less than 10 in stock, don't be surprised if it's out of stock completely. Hence the YMMV.

Are they just trying to get rid of old stock with the previous branding stickers? They're a steel at this price aren't they? Can't figure why else they would discount them this much cause these are really solid batteries

I'm thinking these may be old stock, and they're gearing up to get new inventory for the holidays. Also, batteries have a shelf life, so discounting old stock totally makes sense.

I'll check but I'm pretty sure the new 2024-2025 "XR" badged stock in the cardboard boxes has the same UPC as the old clamshell packs from 2022. Unless these were getting a Manager's Special UPC slapped over them, I don't think it can be clearing old stock. After all, they cleared all that out last year for $75.

The one I got at this price was in the cardboard box.

I'm convinced that the acronym YMMV is a secret code that means there's not a chance in hell that it's at your store.

I've had this battery die for no reason. Plus it doesn't work with battery adapters, only the smaller power stack does.

I got that portable router table 2 weeks ago. I found it myself way up top. It comes in a bigger box of 4. It took a while to get it down but they did.

Small PowerStack is just as likely to have issues with the unofficial battery adapters but I don't hold that against them. Those adapters should void your warranty anyway. They literally just bypass the tool's safeties and connect the positive and negative terminals to the tool... no thermal sensing, no low-voltage cut-off... nothing.

I have three of these with very light use. One developed an issue where the battery indicator lights got stuck on and DeWALT sent me a new one right away. They didn't even ask for the old one back, so I repaired it.

All it needed was a new tactile switch for the button (Diptronics TBFF21KQR, TBFF22KQR, or any number of them with the same footprint). You can't access the switch without removing the cell stack which is stuck in with adhesive foam. I needed 99.9% isopropyl alcohol with a needle dispenser to free it up without getting any where it might short the cells.

I got a few of these at this price a couple of weeks ago. The inventory isn't always accurate. The store I went to (Newport News) had more of these in stock than the deal inventory site listed. That was also true for the M12 jobsite light and other things I have found recently.

You do have to be willing to search for these items on your own. I look at it as a bit of a treasure hunt. I memorize the SKU numbers I'm looking for and search high up on the shelves.

The PowerStack batteries I found were in a cardboard box high above the other batteries. The SKU was stickered to the outside of the box along with several other battery SKUs. I had to ask an associate to get the box down and look for the batteries. She kept asking me why I didn't just want to buy the two pack. I told her the two pack was selling for $329 and I could get two of the batteries she was digging out of the box for $100. I did the same at another store before finding these and the box had the SKU on the outside, but no batteries inside. That particular associate seemed annoyed at me for asking.

Extreme YMMV, but you might just get lucky with some persistence.
