I honestly can't tell the difference between the picture on this and the 55" LG OLED from a few years ago that I just accidentally destroyed (this is the replacement.)

There are people on this site and elsewhere that make it their mission to kill their own joy by finding every little problem, but if you're not one of them then there are only a couple of things I don't like about this TV:
  • The TV is slow to fully wake up. The Bluetooth feature of the remote (needed for voice control) doesn't start working for like 30 seconds.
  • The inputs are on the right side, unlike the LG it's replacing, and there's only 3 of them
  • The remote isn't programmable/universal, so if your soundbar/etc. doesn't have ARC/eARC HDMI, you're SOL for having volume control with one remote.
Other than that, it's great. It's a huge improvement over LG's OS and the remote with its backlight is so much nicer, despite not having the "magic" pointing feature. The UI is so much less braindead than LG's and it's not always asking to update stuff.
Thanks for the detailed response. I'm still on the fence. Some reviews say Google TV is the best format, other say Roku is better. I'm already used to inputs on the right and would not be attaching a soundbar or other device. The biggest complaint about Google is the abundance of advertisements. I've only had Roku and wouldn't want more ads than it has already. But it seems like a good price on a mini-led TV. I wish it were from Amazon so I could return it more easily if needed. With Black Friday coming fairly soon, it might worth waiting.

Look into getting yourself a pi-hole or similar ad blocking dns setup for your home network. I don't see any Roku ads anymore. Should be able to do the same with the Google tv ads.

Just bought one of these last week for $20 more. It's a good TV, great picture. Can't imagine why anybody would be worried about 60hz on a 55" TV. Hooking a gaming PC up to it? My hesitation was mainly that it has less dimming zones than the tiers above it, but I'm happy with the purchase, the blacks look great to me, and I am used to older high end plasmas with great contrast. I am sure there is some improvement on the higher tier ones, but based on what I am seeing on this one, it can't be too dramatic.

installed one of these in an outdoor patio area.

worked great, looked great.

a lot snappier than I thought it was going to be for such an entry level tv.

I just set mine up yesterday and I'm loving it so far. Granted this is my first TV after a Samsung LED from around 10yrs ago so I'm no connoisseur. This size, refresh rate and it's brightness are great for my needs. I have noticed what I think are dead pixels on the lower right corner. Should I get it exchanged?
