You mean the stuff that's $14 for ONE stick? GTFOH.

Blistex is my go-to and sunscreen is important since your lips lack melanin for natural protection.

This is an incredible deal!!

So this is just my two cents.

I didn't like this balm because A. it didn't really do much to moisturize my lips. It felt like I was putting something on top of my lips as opposed to something that was nourishing. And B. it has two ingredients that are used as a sunscreen, which can absorb into the skin.

I prefer First Aid Beauty's lip therapy because it really did work for my lips.

Be careful with Blistex (maybe Lip balms in general). Just over the course of a few years, I found I was using more and more of Blistex Medicated lip balm. My estimation is my lips got used to the application and over time got conditioned to needing it; virtually addicted to it. At the end, I was using it multiple times a day every day. I recognized that this had grown into a bad habit, no longer just symptom relief. Over the course a a couple months, going cold turkey, I was able to break the constant need and now don't use it at all

I think that's a thing with any lip balm. If you use it frequently, your body makes less of the mucus that naturally keeps your lips lubed. There's usually a natural cycle where you make more in the winter when your lips are dry, and less in the summer when they're not. But using lip balm daily disrupts this cycle.

I would argue that the sunscreen in this lip balm is the most important factor. If you know that you're going to be in the sun all day and your lips might get burned, then it's probably a good idea to use this stuff. Otherwise, you're right; lip balm should be used sparingly or you'll become dependent on it.

That one stick last a year, so, that's kind of a factor.

Besides, I would not put Octinoxate and Octisalate anywhere near my body with the recent research that's been coming out. But do you to save an extra few bucks 🙂
Too late for me, My go to Mentholatum medicated lip balm original is Dimethicone 1%, Octinoxate 7.5%, Octisalate 5%

I've been using this as needed, sparingly, for years with zero signs of excessive compulsive disorder...when used as directed & intended I prefer it over other well recognized brands.
But hey, to each their own.

Do these melt everywhere in the summer heat? Seriously asking since I've primarily used Carmex in the screw cap tubes and they're liquid in the heat

Yes, of course they melt in high heat. Try the small jars of this or Carmex. I found those to work better in warm weather

I keep one of these in my backpack at all times. Never had a lip balm addiction. Carmex may be a little better but Blistex and Carmex are the best
