I reached out to BS to tell them and they said it was the result of nitrogen injected into the bag to displace oxygen and that I should place it into another container to let it air out.
I put about half in a plastic container from Optimum Nutrition and the smell DID disappear in that tub though the bag still smells three days later. If yours smells and putting it into another container doesn't fix it, contact them for a refund/replacement because it's likely that the creatine was contaminated or stored improperly.
Also, I found the bag difficult to close, like the zipper was misaligned, so putting it in another container is just a good idea anyway.

In regards to the bag/zipper, this brand is notorious for that issue. I've found that flicking the zipper from the outside allows the powder to displace from within the grooves. So you just flick that bad boy and circle around the bag and you'll clear out the area for a clean seal. Otherwise you're going to encounter clumps that leave it unsealed somewhat, causing it to eventually unseal itself completely. It's an awful design and could be remedied if they decided to ship the bags double-sealed instead of forcing you to tear off into an open re-sealable pouch.
