Bought this the other day and it had a somewhat fishy smell in the bag.

I reached out to BS to tell them and they said it was the result of nitrogen injected into the bag to displace oxygen and that I should place it into another container to let it air out.

I put about half in a plastic container from Optimum Nutrition and the smell DID disappear in that tub though the bag still smells three days later. If yours smells and putting it into another container doesn't fix it, contact them for a refund/replacement because it's likely that the creatine was contaminated or stored improperly.

Also, I found the bag difficult to close, like the zipper was misaligned, so putting it in another container is just a good idea anyway.

That's good to know and thankfully I've never had that issue.

In regards to the bag/zipper, this brand is notorious for that issue. I've found that flicking the zipper from the outside allows the powder to displace from within the grooves. So you just flick that bad boy and circle around the bag and you'll clear out the area for a clean seal. Otherwise you're going to encounter clumps that leave it unsealed somewhat, causing it to eventually unseal itself completely. It's an awful design and could be remedied if they decided to ship the bags double-sealed instead of forcing you to tear off into an open re-sealable pouch.

Remembers the days they sent you free bags if you gave them a positive review. It was like a 2 for 1 deal all the time. I got a lot of free supplements over several years, but I eventually grew to distrust the brand based on their tactics and do not buy it anymore.

Sadly, I've had similar experiences with other products that use a particular plastic blend for their packaging - they all had a distinct fishy smell to them that was off putting.

Lots of questions. Is this the first time you were using creatine?

Anything special with your diet? Any water restrictions?

Did you try another creatine after this?

I have never heard of creatine causing issues like that

I can't recommend this brand anymore. My last batch became "moldy" after about 3 months into my 200 serving supply. Extremely foul smell every time I would opening the packaging. After researching expired creatine, I contacted their support. They were rude and ultimately unable to offer any sort of support besides copy/pasting that their product was thoroughly inspected at the time of creation. I will never buy from this company again.

Horbaach at a few dollars more (or cheaper with a sale) is my new go to...
