Amazon Vine just means seller provided the item to the program, but the reviewer is not obligated to the seller to provide a positive review, that's kind of the whole point of the program. To get items into actual users hands to test and provide an honest review. Granted some of those people take the programs more seriously than their jobs. For instance for an item to get 5 stars it needs to go above and beyond produst description and user expectations.
I've done a bunch of hands on reviews for sellers... problem is, if the review isn't positive, or positive enough, they won't post the review and want the item back.
But if I post a positive review, I keep the item.
Also, the more positive reviews I post, the better and more frequent I'm asked to review stuff.
That being said, of course there's incentive to review a free item better than if you paid for it yourself.
