Looks like the reviews are all Vine free product types, fwiw. Am still tempted at this price, especially with Fall/Winter coming up... but I mostly use an insulated mug around the house so I doubt I'd actually use. Maybe an xmas gift...

The problem with this design is that the hot pad is below the area space. So you have to have a cup small enough to fit on it or you're not going to make contact with the pad and your cup. With the ones that are level with the rest of the area, the pad will make contact with your cup, even if the cup is larger than the pad, but will still keep your coffee warm.

Plenty of warmers around this price and some less. What makes this one slick?

Amazon Vine just means seller provided the item to the program, but the reviewer is not obligated to the seller to provide a positive review, that's kind of the whole point of the program. To get items into actual users hands to test and provide an honest review. Granted some of those people take the programs more seriously than their jobs. For instance for an item to get 5 stars it needs to go above and beyond produst description and user expectations.

I've done a bunch of hands on reviews for sellers... problem is, if the review isn't positive, or positive enough, they won't post the review and want the item back.

But if I post a positive review, I keep the item.

Also, the more positive reviews I post, the better and more frequent I'm asked to review stuff.

These work well but you need to find a mug/cup with a flat bottom surface to get the most out of it.

Cool looking design. Don't want one or need one as I use vacuum glasses or zojirushi but this would look nice on a desk

OK price for nice fake wood finish. Mug warmer exist for ages. They are also sold for low melting scented candle jars, and hot glue dip cup.

That's not how Vine works at all. I've been a Vine reviewer for 2 years now. The reviewer picks from a list of available items. You keep the item regardless of how you review it, and the seller never contacts the reviewer.
That being said, of course there's incentive to review a free item better than if you paid for it yourself.

Why not just use a 1200W warmer?
