It works ok, but I got better results with EZ Seeds which is more expensive.

Worked for me, I saw germination within 5 days. However, we had a drought and it died just as fast

I'm in Seattle and my lawn is completely dried out and full of weeds. Wondering if it is the right time to re-seed and how well this products works in my area? Appreciate it if someone can help me with steps to grow and maintain thick and green lawn. Not a green thumb here

TIA

Look for native grasses that are drought tolerant. Your local nursery can help with selecting and there are also many websites to help you choose the right seeds. Worth it to pay more for seeds now rather then going broke paying to water the wrong kind of grass for years to come.

Some people will use rocks and cardboard to smother the weeds and existing grass before they seed in a different kind of grass. You might work in sections until the whole lawn is completed if the area is really big. The rocks are to hold down the sheets of cardboard. Many furniture stores will have huge pieces of cardboard you can take for free if you ask the staff nicely. Can probably also raid some recycling dumpsters too for big pieces of cardboard. Or you can smother with plastic sheeting as well. Once the lawn is totally dead you can rent a tiller or pay someone to till the soil so it is ready to be seeded. After that get ready to water religiously until the seeds are established. Once established a native drought tolerant lawn will only require a little weed removal now and then by hand and minimal watering via sprinkler. A lot of work up front but then it is years of a nice worry free lawn you can be proud of.

Thank you so much for taking time to write in detail.
Will check my local nursery and see what they have to suggest too.

Products like this don't work magically, but if you read and follow the directions, they're quite reliable. That said, given that this is 9-1-1, you're getting just over a pound of nitrogen per bag, so definitely don't buy this for the fertilization component. You're better off buying seed and fertilizer separately. It's also worth noting that in 2020, Amazon sold the 40 lb bags for $10, so this 12 lbs for $15 isn't much of a deal compared to that.

It was mostly ryegrass varieties for me, might vary depending on your location

Answer from Amazon - The product information does not specify if the grass seed mix in Scotts Turf Builder Thick'R Lawn Sun and Shade is perennial. So I have no interest.
