If you're trying to cover a dark color with a light color, this stuff helps out a lot.... I tried not using it to cover a small water stain in my ceiling and I had to literally use about six coats of a white paint to finally cover it.

That's not to say you won't ever need a couple coats of this stuff, but it's still very good.
