NO reason to buy the XBOX anymore, they went to hell, they wanna their junk games to sale at 89.99, Xbox 650$, game pass for 30/month, what a joke, even Microsoft rewards become a joke and worthless, so surprised that a giant like Microsoft fallen
Honestly, it's like they're doing it on purpose with all the price hikes. Like they're don't want anyone buying any of their Xbox products. Fast tracking its demise.

How would you get some many reward points ? I'd like to know how to maximize my points. The quests offer such low amounts.
You can get decent info on how to maximize points at that R website that uses /r/MicrosoftRewards as a community
Usually it's people posting about how they're quitting, but sometimes it's good tips
250pts + bonuses a day just for bing searches, the daily rewards activities usually get another 50-100. xbox points are another 50 a day or so plus another few hundred per week in bonuses.

Sadly, now that prices of everything keep going up and they keep trying to reduce the points awarded, i might be making one of those "i'm leaving this time for real and i mean it" posts myself soon.

Not suggesting they're any better, I'm not a PS+ subscriber and the PS5 has no exclusives I'm interested in.
I let my PS plus go about a year ago from not enough new content to maybe I don't play as much anymore.......likely let Xbox ultimate go as well when this expires in a year. Like others said, I have a backlog as well which likely could be a couple years of gameplay. I do have some friends that still do physical copies so if something intrigues my interest can always borrow it.

Steam family sharing is also a thing. Epic is still giving away at least 1 free game a week for the past 7+ years now, Humble Bundle/Choice, etc. there's certainly no shortage if you're a PC gamer and want to get away from Xbox and their nonsense. I've seen nothing but backlash over their recent moves.

man I feel sorry for my xbox game studios friends. they're doing this because they missed all their targets and had a budget deficit this year, which means they had to cut a bunch of staff. but this will further drive away subscribers, thus making xbox game studios worse on their targets. In the end, all the staff at xbox game studios are probably going to get pink slips in a few years as Microsoft further divests from it unless they figure out a way to make massive profits. End of the line choochoo... back to buying games under $5 and building up my steam backlog

i did conversion 2 times, the first time for under $3 per month using the vpn method

second time it was cdkeys or w/e site core conversion for under $8 per month until late 2027

then while the rewards were decent, i used them to exchange for months until early 2028

if all those methods are gone, i'll go back to my 500+ game backlog that most PC gamers have until an easy/cheap conversion exists again

Welp, Im gettind rid of my series X once my sub runs out in Dec 2027. They can go to hell. PS5 for me here on out.
Competitors usually do silly things together. I'm preparing myself for Sony to drink the silly sauce and try to screw up their goodwill, too
I mean, they did last year when Playstation Plus went to $80 a year. I expect they'll jack the prices up more.

PC is the wild west dealing with hackers, cheaters and viruses.

Pay for every game individually.

Not to mention upgrading parts every few years to keep up.

You end up paying more, but I guess you get the feeling of pride and accomplishment putting your own box together
>>>PC is the wild west dealing with hackers, cheaters and viruses.
1) If you think people aren't hacking with consoles, you're naive. 2) If you actually use a good antivirus program (and yes, Microsoft Defender counts here, especially when paired with other products for malware) you don't have to worry about viruses.
>>>Pay for every game individually.
That...is exactly how consoles work as well. There's also Humble Bundle (monthly sub but you own the games) and MANY sites with bundle deals and sales.

>>>Not to mention upgrading parts every few years to keep up.
You mean like buying the next console when the console mfgs stop putting games out for it? Or do you think you can play Battlefield 6 (as an example) on a OG Xbox or Playstation 1?

>>> You end up paying more, but I guess you get the feeling of pride and accomplishment putting your own box together
You also have the ability to do far more than play games on it. If I want to set up a retro gaming system with literally every console up through about PS3/Xbox 360/Switch 2 and the majority of arcade games -and- set up a home server -and- work from home -and- be creative -and- probably 10,000 or more ideas I'm not coming up with at the moment.....computers are the way.
All a console is is a stripped-down and locked-down PC at this point.

Paying the COD tax. I burned up as many Rewards points as I could yesterday before they pulled Ultimate codes as an option to redeem, I maxed out my sub, but in 3 years from now I'm not sure what kind of shape the entire Xbox brand is going to be in, might be the last hurrah.
Definitely only going to get worse atleast ea is going to an outside group I feel like the acquisition of Activision was the death of affordable gaming totally not saying im not going to be paying more in the future if I have to buying guess whatever to play games but a true disappointment i feel like they are soon going to be capitalizing like the mobile platforms start making true pay to play games
