Any idea how this compares to the m12 installation driver?

Id probably just wait for the 100$ sale or 150 with the oscillating tool. i just bought the m12 combo for 200. Probably going to get this too at some point.
Definitely excessive for me to have 3 impacts and 4 drills but swapping bits is annoying

The bosh is more compact and the shape is like your standard drill/ impact driver compared to the M12 installation driver. Both serve the same purposes.

I like it better than the Installation driver I also have. Keep the Bosch at home, the Installation driver goes with the RV which is mostly M12.The Bosch is more compact, better swapping head design, and just as powerful. I really wish Milwaukee would take the M12 Surge and add swapping heads, that would be the ultimate Installation driver. If I didn't have a RV, I would sell the Installation driver, it is not needed with the Bosch around.

You may be thinking of the brushed version. This spends most of its time above $150 according to my memory and CCC. It's currently $220 on Lowes.

I got this last year thinking it'll be a holdover until I find a crazy sale on the M12 lineup. It ended up surprising me. It slots itself between a standard M12 and the M12 Fuel. I like it way better than the incredibly stupid looking M12 equivalent installation drill/driver. It does everything I need and ended up not getting any M12. I'm already loaded up with Makita when I need full size power.

Got one of these. It's my go to. Lots of power. Extremely versatile! The battery life is crazy long. I use it for my job.

I was waiting for a deal on the M12 Surge, but maybe this would be more versatile for odd household jobs? Any thoughts?

Hmmmm, if I had to pick one, it would probably be the M12 Surge, very close though, but it is rare to use one of the attachments with the Bosch for me. If I never used the Surge, I would probably never get it if I had the Bosch already. If you think the attachments on the Bosch will come in handy for you, then Bosch all the way. the only thing the Surge adds, aside from a little more quiet, is better trigger control for less bit slip. The Bosch is not far behind though, and better than the Milwaukee Installation driver.

Appreciate the insight. Do you have the brushless or brushed Bosch? Reviews I've read highlight great trigger precision for the brushless. You feel the Surge can do low speeds more precisely than the Bosch?

sorry for the late reply, just saw it. I got the brushless Bosch and the trigger is really good, just prefer the Surge a little more. It probably wouldn't be that much of a difference for most and I could just as easily use the Bosch all the time. I just have a lot of M12 tools and batteries so it makes more sense to stay M12. I am never getting rid of the Bosch though, the Milwaukee Installation driver would be out the door first lol
