please don't make the mistake of buying this, for hundreds of reasons I can list. I guarantee you this will not do what you think it does, well. get yourself a gamesir g8/g8+/x5/x5lite.

there are so many problems with this device. (reply if you care and I can list some issues, or just read the 1 star reviews - they aren't lying)

does it just have BT connection issues? i was considering getting this so i could uze it with a tablet. i just ordered the lenovo legion g7 (seems to be a slightly wider gamesir g8) from aliexpress, but I'll need to mod that for tablet use. i was also considering getting the g8+ but wasn't sure about the BT only connection. is this considerably worse than that? or has 8bit do just made a dud device? i remember other stuff of theirs being decently well regarded, although i did personally have connection issues with an older BT controller dongle (the one that looked like a Nintendo block)

Bluetooth is ok, no issues when the phone is sitting inside it. first firmware has disconnect issues. this is worse then the g8+ in every single aspect (aside from price, right now)

Didn't even realize it was so bad. I bought one and never had time to get an emulator frontend setup going.

Actually just got it setup with an NES emulator and it works great on my Galaxy Fold. Ymmv.

I have this controller and am 20 hours into Chrono Trigger on my iPhone with close to 0 issues (will elaborate). I don't want you to type out hundreds of reasons this product is bad, but it would be helpful if you could share 1 or 2 examples, so I know what to look out for. I haven't put it through its paces in anything else.

Issues: 1) maybe 3 times in 20+ hours input lag made me select the wrong thing. 2) A curious thing I noticed is that using the touch controls in Chrono Trigger, you can control whether your characters walk or run by how far you move the virtual joystick. The physical analog stick seems to always cause them to run no matter how gently I move it. I noticed this just last night and am curious whether it's an issue with the controller or the way the game interprets it. Just figured it was worth mentioning.

I'll just give a few pretty important issues then. the controller is d-input, meaning support for games is extremely limited. can't remap the controls to the touchscreen. gamesir controllers, as well as most other brands, can do both d-input and x-input, and can also remap the controls to areas on the screen to essentially get support in any game. this controller has a polling rate of 66hz. this results is some noticeable delay vs the competition which starts at 125hz minimum but usually does 250/500hz. there is also an android app that simply doesn't work, at all. it is designed to remap keys but has never worked to do that. (they know about this issue for 4 months and haven't fixed it)and lastly, it has no vibration motor, leaving you at the mercy of your phones much weaker haptics motor to deal with that. it's designed also blocks the bottom firing speakers on most phones which messes up the audio (I'll stop here)

I was also hesitant about the G8+ because of the BT functionality. Then I found the wireless 2.4ghz USB dongle and immediately ordered both.

https://www.aliexpress.us/item/32...pt=glo2usa

I know one of the spec sheets mentions a wireless dongle but it's not included with the G8+ and I couldn't even find it on Aliexpress until I just started searching on google and it came up with some listings. It says it works with PC and I saw a video of someone using it with an iPhone. So I would assume it works with android as well.

The description lists Android 13.0 as a requirement. Can anyone confirm that this will not work at all with previous versions of Android?

I appreciate the reply and think these are all very valid criticisms. I just wanted to provide anybody considering purchasing one of these with a little more context. - I'm overall satisfied with this controller, but I also don't do a ton of mobile gaming and certainly don't plan on doing anything beyond casual retro gaming, so this is valuable info for anyone who needs something a bit more reliable and versatile. Rep'd.

I know this is getting a bad rap, but I got the white version on woot last time and it's been pretty good. it's had some joystick drift but emulating Dreamcast and Gameboy has been just fine. My son uses it for Minecraft on Android and likes it enough to ask to use it.

What's the comparable price for the other models?

I'm also tempted to just get one of the frequently posted handhelds.

So it does fit the fold 7?

You don't run in Chrono Trigger unless you hold down the run button. Degree of stick motion shouldn't change that.

Works for my needs without any issues. (S22 Ultra)(Retro games via steam link)

The only annoyance I've ran into is the top of the joy sticks popping off if you snag the control against something (They pop back in)

Don't buy it if:
You need pass-through charging.
You use Google Keyboard (doesn't like it)
You need zero input lag (Its Bluetooth)
