Please hear me. Hub motors are evil. I had this brand and had to replace the nylon gears three times. It was awful. Save your money for mid drive. Please don't waste money on this.

I think that we as a country need to stop asking the government to take away even more of our freedoms just because some people are morons.

the jails are full enough as it is, without putting people in jail, and on probabation for riding a fast bike.

if they drive all out of control and take themselves out, then that's their prerogative

I hate these in the LA bike lanes near me. They're this style so the bike lane will be clear and then suddenly there's someone there.
I once watched two kids crash while running a red light on PCH during rush hour. One through the crosswalk, one making a red light turn across the same crosswalk. They both screamed as they collided. They were fine. It was beautiful; I couldn't stop laughing.

This is a motorcycle, think a Yamaha rz-250 in electric form.It is not a bicycle. It is not an ebike. It is not a moped. 30mph is usually the line between "moped needs a license" and "motorcycle needs vin/insurance/motorcycle license." 45mph? No question. 6,000W (9hp)? No question. You will need license and registration to use it anywhere besides a motocross track, assuming it even offers a VIN. It is almost certainly illegal to use on any public path or bike trails not rated for motorcycles.
this is an e bike. it is not a "dirt bike" in any real form.

I think a car off the road would be better regardless. Think about the added parking spaces that would be available if people actually switched to ebikes in LA.

Look, I agree that this guy's obnoxious annoying spam on stupid old outdated US Ebike law is spammy as hell... But come on, this is not an Ebike.... This is a E motorcycle / dirt bike that's trying way too hard to be a Ebike. Imagine pedaling it home if the battery goes dead (and not saying from normal usage... More like suddenly goes dead if it's not reliable)

I would be down for this wattage and battery size (BUT with a speed limiter on 20 mph... But also a short burst boost option like how DJI's new mid drive is doing it)... But as a normal looking bike that actually acts like a bike via pedal assist.

If I'm being honest, all the bad eggs doing stupid things with ebikes are making legitimate responsible Ebike riders look bad. Sure, responsible Ebike riders can say, "screw them, FAFO"... But they are the ones forcing the govt to make these laws. Someone needs to be active on educating them or punishing them reasonably.

This youtube video does a good job explaining the situation

EDIT:
And someone in the slickdeals.net dev team needs to fix this stupid issue where posting a post makes a wall of text.. It's annoying that I have to go and edit the post again

In CA, one must obtain a license and registration to operate a 30cc moped. The goal is to ensure that the operator understand traffic laws and operate the vehicle safely. Powerful ebikes bypass these safety measures by putting pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists at risk.

I can ride all day at 18 mph on a bike, but I purposely slow down to 13 mph in city street with parked vehicles. An experienced cyclist anticipate sudden door opening by planning emergency braking or evasive maneuver. A kid traveling at 30 mph on an ebike will probably end up in a casket...Darwin's law at work.

The solution is simple. Limit peak motor output on all ebikes with pedals to 200W. Ebikes without pedals are classified as moped or motorcycle.

Don't worry they are building interment camps for overcrowded jails. There are too many community liabilities. Once they legitimize the ICE camp down in FL, they will build more.

Always love checking the dates on product reviews and am skeptical when you see so many reviews within days of each other. Sure smells like foreign interference to me...

You can get a Honda Navi for around this price. Better build quality, dealer network, resale value, etc. Not an eBike hater - no experience with this specific bike - just reiterating that there's a price point where they stop making sense.

I wish they made these bikes look more bike-like so people like you see in the comments here won't whine about it
funny how they get all riled up by kids on crotch rockets but has no comments on the same kids speeding and doing dumb stuff in a multi ton SUV their daddy bought them.
almost as if the problem is not with the vehicle.

Pedal bikes can go anywhere in most states. Not the Navi
