This is a far better deal for 48GB RAM, lesser price, and 1-year All-state warranty: https://slickdeals.net/f/18678406-refurb-apple-macbook-pro-16-m4-max-48gb-ram-1tb-ssd-2499?p=179462065#post179462065
Also, the original price for this is $3099, for which it's available at BB, and not $3499 as mentioned by the OP.

We're talking about the price it's available for new, which is $3099 at best buy. Anyone buying this as open box would be getting a discount on $3099, not $3499. That's what Open-Box prices are about.

MacBooks are increasingly more difficult and extremely more expensive to repair than any computer 5 years ago

Why are there repeated deals for random refurb and open box when you cant buy AppleCare+ for those laptops?

A nearly $3k laptop with no way to buy warranty? Has to be a joke right?

Anyone buying a MacBook for more than $1k and NOT getting the warranty is making a huge error

Many of the open boxes from Best Buy gives you the ability to add AppleCare+ when you register or sign into that laptop

Hate how I have to do BTO just to get anything more than 1TB SSD on MacBooks. Which means hardly ever any deals unless it's a couple of generations behind.

I personally wouldn't buy a refurb unless it's directly from Apple, which I have done multiple times including very recently and the products are always indistinguishable from brand new aside from the more generic packaging. However, I wonder if you can add any of these non-apple refurbs to the new AppleCare One plans. I just added my M1 Pro MBP to AppleCare One and it's from 2021.

You can add it but you have to take it into the store for inspection
