Word of warning, though! Aliexpress 'Free Returns' are a complete SCAM. They will not honor it. If anything is wrong they will make you pay for return shipping, which on an item like this is quite expensive. Buy at your own risk.
EDIT:
Pulling any of my recommendations for Flashforge. They have come out on record that they are monitoring what your print at home and will alert the police if they think you are printing anything illegal
Dont support this police state garbage:

I think they thought it would be cool to do this but it was a horrible move because they probably don't really get how it would be interpreted.
Not so much the "gun" angle but the threat of doing something to MY machine AFTER i purchased it, especially doing something that's still LEGAL in the majority of the states.
Honestly should've just said nothing and that would've been better.
you have all these paid posters bashing the printer now
But I think people like monitoring/controlling their printers through an app, which I can see being really useful. Hell, I turned my ceiling fan on from across the country when I noticed my cat looking a little warm.

While some are freaking out about FF's reply, I don't see it as an issue. What ever data they collect is going to be the same (or less) than other mfrs. The companies have no interest in policing what you do on the printer outside of their networks. They can't get in trouble if you print something NYC says isn't OK via your LAN/USB. Where they get in trouble is if they allow you to pass something NYC thinks is bad through their servers. At that point FF/BL/Cr are part of the mfg chain.
If you are really worried just run the printers in offline modes. The nice thing about the FF is you can use a wired network and just plug it in when you think it needs an update. Keep it offline the rest of the time.

I suppose if you're running your own homelab and monitoring all of your devices and what they can or cannot do, we're all kinda just sitting ducks, right?
Mostly though I think this is a weird thing to worry about over this specific device. Putting any IoT stuff on your home network entails risk, and if you want to use stuff like light switches you can access from anywhere you can't wall them off from the internet. At that point you can put them on their own VLAN but that's not accessible to the average user either.
Personally I think the average person is much more at risk of malicious IoT stuff running bots for spam or DDOS attacks than they are anything else and if I was in a group looking to put that sort of stuff in something I'd be looking at $12 light switches not much lower volume 3d printers.

Both enclosed with their official kit, paid 16 EA on amazon flashforge warehouse deals
Also bought 1 PRO version and love it!!
Makes great prints and is fast
Make sure you buy good 600mm speed pla or pet g
Do not use the glue included it's not needed when using supports like brim
My last attempt at buying a 3d printer as a deal for my kids' Christmas was a weedo and it was a disaster-o. All we did was troubleshoot, order parts, and repeat. So frustrating.

They sent a threatening letter to FF
https://manhattanda.org/wp-conten...5.25_1
FF's initial reply said they would report people for printing gun parts to comply with the law. It seems they over reacted, realized they stepped in it and retracted the comment. I suspect most of this was just to satisfy the veiled threats they were getting from NY.
Basically, nothing to worry about.
