Features:
With Matter, users are no longer tied to specific platforms and works with all certified smart home platforms, such as Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Samsung SmartThings. You can control all your smart home devices from a single app, reducing the need for multiple apps for different devices.
All Matter-certified devices in your local area network (LAN) will work smoothly even when your home internet goes offline. Matter allows effective communication directly between devices, without the need for a specific 'forwarding' device. For example, a Matter smart switch or sensor can turn on/off a Matter bulb directly without being connected to a cloud service, or other specific action. Once configured, communication and control between Matter devices can be achieved directly on the local network.
By monitoring your energy consumption over time, you can gain valuable insights into your usage patterns and make informed decisions about your energy consumption. This can help you save money on your energy bills.
Avoid blocking additional outlets with its compact design, and plug in your WiFi smart plug with confidence thanks to its UL certified flame retardant design and 2-year limited warranty.
Our research indicates that this offer is $13.81 lower (28% savings) than the next best available price from a reputable merchant with prices starting from $48

Besides seeing energy consumption what would this provide me that these Kasa Smart Plug Mini 15A's would not. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B091FXLMS8
You may know this already, but in case you didn't: Energy monitoring can be handy for automating sequences with software like Home Assistant. For example, you can setup rules such that when the TV is turned on (not the plug that powers the TV, but the TV itself - using the remote.. which will increase the power consumption), turn on all the rest of the entertainment set up (AV receiver, apple tv, etc.. and/or turn off the room lights).

Extra nerd / power savings - hook your battery chargers and rechargeable items to one of these to turn on overnight if you have a time of day power rate - charges devices cheaper and ensures you always have charged flashlights/etc.
I assume not, but believe this would be a good place to seek an informed response.
I have the old version, which will upgrade the firmware, but not add features like energy stats or Matter. The old are still fine if you don't need the extra features. I am getting new ones to replace the old ones I use on 3D printers and crypto miners, so that I can track the energy usage. I will use the old ones for controlling attic fans or holiday decorations. Looks like you can get the old ones for 10 dollars cheaper.

You don't really need an energy monitoring version to do this though. You just need to turn the switch on schedule - which just about every smart switch can.
"2.4g wifi only". I just went through this with my current Kasa products. I upgraded to Fidium fiber and it only puts out a 5G signal so my current Kasa smart plugs can't and won't find my wifi. Hope this helps someone.
I have two questions, could someone answer them?
1. I have a few old Kasa non-matter plugs, it can only save energy usage history for 30 days. Are these matter version the same?
2. For tapo matter plugs, are they using same Kasa app or different app?
Thanks in advance.

1. Sorry, don't have any experience with the energy monitoring variant.
2. The tapo plugs should be using their newer Tapo app. The Tapo app can also be used to manage the older Kasa plugs as well.
