Even if you lose the winder, doing it by hand isn't that bad.
My only complaints about this vs my previous are : the trigger is a little more annoying with the folding "lock" component (vs a large lockout paddle you simply hold down on the older one)
and this one has a bit of a longer delay for spin up vs my previous model. Not a huge deal, but it's slightly annoying having the longer delay when trying to dial in the right amount of pressure on the adjustable trigger.
I'm sure I'll get used to it.
The bigger width, quietness, brushless power/battery life, are all worthwhile upgrades IMO. This one also doesn't seem to need a cool down period when you work it hard for a while vs my older model.
Certainly worth the $70 and the whisper /brushless leaf blower on sale for $80 is an even better upgrade over my past unit.
