Here's the exact way to hard reset a TCL tablet using only the hardware buttons.
(Works for most TCL TAB models, including TCL TAB 8, TAB 10, TAB Pro 5G, etc.)
---
✅ Hard Reset TCL Tablet (Using Buttons)
1. Turn the tablet completely OFF
Hold Power → tap Power Off
If it's frozen, hold Power for 10–15 seconds until it shuts off.
---
✅ 2. Enter Recovery Mode
Use this button combo:
Method A (most common TCL)
1. Hold Volume Up + Power at the same time.
2. When you see the TCL logo, release Power, but keep holding Volume Up.
3. Wait until the Android Recovery menu appears.
If Method A doesn't work, try Method B:
Method B
1. Hold Volume Down + Power.
2. When the TCL logo appears, release Power, keep holding Volume Down.
---
✅ 3. Wipe / Factory Reset
Use Volume keys to move and Power to select.
1. Select Wipe data/factory reset
2. Choose Factory data reset
3. Wait for it to finish
4. Select Reboot system now
The Moto Stylus is the more generous. ADB can uninstall the bloat except for Device Pulse, so some bloat will get through.

I tried that, factory reset about 4~5 times, and it still happened...
I think this is a bad unit...

Now trying to return the tablet...
I tried contacting them via online chat, but it was a nightmare. I went through three different agents because they were so slow—likely handling multiple customers at once. The first agent never called me back as I had to leave the chat after about 45 minutes. The second promised an email with return instructions that never arrived. The third agent asked me to use the return label that should be in the box and take it to UPS or return it at a Verizon store. There is no return shipping label, but a return receipt on the back of the UPS shipping label that was on the outside of the box.
Skip the chat and call them directly. Once I spoke to a person, they emailed me a UPS return label that included an internal ticket number so the warehouse could ship the replacement. I removed my SIM (not activated yet), boxed it up, and dropped it at The UPS Store. Now just waiting on the replacement, which I should expect in the next 30 days.
