i totally agree in terms of value, but functionally, the 2.0 battery is kinda nice to have for some tasks. nice and compact.

It's a national offer shouldn't be ymmv. What did your prices come out to?

Prices of both tools should've been prorated (proportionately reduced so their lower prices add up to $99) but neither of the tools will show up as free ($0).

It's substantially more expensive ($140, 40% more), but they also offer a kit with two HP batteries (4Ah and 6Ah) that also comes with the free tool. That option might be worth considering for those wanting larger / HP batteries.

Those free tools are normally the brushless and/or pricier tools, FWIW

Same sorry list of free tools for both deals. The $99 deal looks like it has a better charger.

Well that's crazy about the tools. And eewww that little charger is 0.5 or 1 mAh. So 6-12 hours to charge a 6ah battery

Are these batteries made to die with short life?

I bought one 2-3 years ago. Barely used it, and one of them is dead already. Will not charge at all. Really surprised.

Don't charge fully, that's the trick to keep the battery health if you are not using frequently. Keep it at 3/4 capacity if you can, it helps a lot
