I got one. It would be nice if it's on android 14 and I can unlock it immediately but for $65 I'm willing to put it in a drawer for a year.
If anyone else is looking for it, I found shortyman24's instructions quoted here: https://slickdeals.net/f/18686347-metro-by-t-mobile-256gb-motorola-razr-2024-5g-gray-30-days-60-prepaid-plan-65-free-shipping?p=179753944#post179753944
And here is the software to unlock it if you're lucky and get an older android version: https://xdaforums.com/t/how-unloc...t-90088027
But it seems like they're mostly sending on ones that are on android 15 now.

Failed id verification without asking any questions. Don't know what I did wrong.
Could be an address issue. They may flag certain addresses if people from there are known to pull scams. Amazon and eBay do the same.

My grandpa has an old metro grandfathered (no pun) plan

Could I buy this as a new customer and after the month of service, swap his line to this phone?
Yes. But if you leave this phone as is, then it will take 30 days + another 30 for the grace period metro allows customers to restore their account.

If after activating and registering your new account for the RAZR you login on the website and move the lines service to another phone then the RAZR will be free to use immediately after on an existing metro account

If they take a year to unlock, why?

I don't mind waiting since I have other phones to use right now. If you really must use it before a year is up there are ways to get it unlocked if the phone comes with a14. There is another thread on here of people who successfully unlocked it and are using it on T-Mobile or whatever they wish

Razr needs to be Android 14 and Jan 2025 security patch. I think anything after security patch March 2025 or Android 15 it will not work. Its on the other thread or look at my post history. So disable system updates and auto reboot updates asap.
Is this even real? Cant find anything...

Ok let me see if I'm understanding this. So I sit on the razr 60 days, Then I can port in my current phone on the $25 plan and then move the sim to the razr? I thought I read that will not work.

A google search says you need to wait 180 days before you can unlock. Is this accurate?
