I found a Lenova 16" Yoga Flip that is $200 less (even cheaper as open box-excellent). Only 16GB and 1TB, but I think 32GB is overkill anyway (for the time being) and I could always upgrade the SSD later if I need.
Is it worth paying $300+ extra for the OLED screen and a marginally faster CPU?
The main difference is the extra RAM, but it's not clear how important that will be for my limited use cases (no gaming or SW development. Probably no video editing. Maybe some very light CAD).
I also like that the Lenovo has a 10-key pad and a fingerprint sensor. Also has a micro-SD reader which is a nice-to-have for storing media.
last year there was one with bing hp.com
Many OLEDs have subpixel layouts that aren't compatible with font rendering, leading to color fringing and loss of text clarity. Some people can't notice this difference, others can notice. I'm one of those that can notice and it seriously hurts my eyes.
I can't find a single detailed review of this laptop, nor can I find any detailed specs on OLED panel itself.

Bummed but I'm returning mine. The laptop overall is great but I'm sensing some very minimal but palpable-to-me latency when using the built-in keyboard, the HDMI port doesn't appear to be able to do > 60Hz @ 4k ( BestBuy page says it's 2.1 so not sure wtf ), and the overall CPU speed just feels limiting and frictional compared to the last real mobile chip I worked on ( 285H ) that it's not going to work out for me. The mura effect on the screen, at least on my particular unit, was very pronounced, but honestly the screen was so good and the text clarity was solid enough in most scenarios that I could've lived w/ that, because the colors, vibrance, picture quality per se is otherwise sensational. But yeah, it's going back. Gorgeous laptop though
Honestly the omnibook here checks all the bells and whistles - Any feedback is appreciated.

I'd also add that these new HPs are quite good at cooling and barely run fans with these new v line processors.
Xps is supposedly a better/more premium line but buying an open box just increases your chances to get a lemon in short term or down the road. So your pick.

Since the X Flip is a step down from the Ultra Flip and less directly comparable to the XPS 13 in terms of fit an finish, it would be good to go to a Best Buy and try it out first. I don't think that the X Flip has a capacitive touchpad, for example, and I couldn't live without one at this point.
