Pros: really fast phone, SD Card, headphone jack 3.5mm, 5,000mAh battery and stereo speaker ( better than iPhone Air).
Cons: no IP rating, no water or dust protection, no gorilla glass protection. LCD screen ( no OLED ) and the big cons IMO is, no more Android upgrade, it's stock on Android 15 and will never get another upgrade. Security updates will available till 2027.

For the same amount of money you can get the 2025 Moto G Stylus which eliminate all the cons, however you will have to deal with the process to get it unlock if that's your goal. For this price is hard to find another phone with the same features. The Galaxy A16 IMO has better screen but its slow AF. And iPhone 11 its around the same price but you will have to deal with a used phone, 3 years old battery and even when the iPhone 11 is twice as fast on bechmarks than the Moto, the Moto feels way faster, specially on multitask because it has double the RAM.

Conclusion: This is probably the best phone you can buy on Amazon brand new and unlock for $129. If you can deal with all the cons go for it. If it goes cheaper on BlackFriday that will be a crazy must buy even if you don't need.

My mom has been using this phone as her primary phone and and she loves it. Plenty fast and sufficient for all her needs (texting. calling, using chatgpt, YouTube).

I can confidently say, that 99 people out of 100 will not be able to name at least one difference between last 3 major Android releases under threat of death. 🤷

Truth is, with Google focus on AI and revenue, Android has been stagnating for quite a number of years, with subsequent revisions bringing rather baroque "enhancements." I'd argue that the delta between 16 and 14 is absolutely meaningless for the majority of people.

If one buys the unlocked version of any Samsung phone there is no bloatware. Same with any unlocked phone from the mfg.
This isn't true, I have an A53 unlocked from Amazon and it's riddled with crappy Samsung bloatware

Humm, my 2 direct from Samsung only had Samsung apps and no games, cash apps, FB, etc. Same with Pixels..no bloat. Amazon sellers, including Amazon store can and do ad whatever they want and why yours was not as clean as Samsung direct.

Where can the 2025 Moto G Stylus be had for the same price? I might consider going through unlock process.

Samsung is less notorious than Moto with this (at least the models I've encountered). At most, you get a bunch of apps "personalized for you" preinstalled at setup time and that's it. With Moto, it comes with "Mobile Service Manager" - a system app (read, not visible on Home screen) which installs crap on your phone on a daily basis without a clear way to opt out.

Straight Talk, requires Gold Plan ($55/$50) at purchase, 2nd month can be Bronze ($35/$34).

There's a separate thread on it here.

This used to cost less than a hundred dollars with Metro by T Mobile including one month of service. It used to unlock after 180 days. Worked for people who had the option to wait
Still there for $55 plus tax, but you'll have to wait 365 these days at Metro for it to be unlocked:

I was going to buy through VIPOutlet as it's $25 cheaper. However their are several reviews that say the phone isn't unlocked.
Maybe worth the risk and try... 30 days returns. Seller pays for return shipping.
