Community Reviews

Milwaukee Forge XC8.0 batteries are drawing attention as a strong upgrade for high drain tools, especially chainsaws, circular saws, Hackzalls, water pumps, and outdoor power equipment. The battery is described as delivering noticeably more power and runtime, with bigger gains on larger tools and a clear edge over older non Forge packs. The deal also works in store through the BOGO hack, which can leave the battery at about $115 after returning the paired item. The main caution is that partial returns and account bans have followed some hacked purchases, so the workaround carries real return policy risk.

Forge batteries are legit. I can't speak to their longevity, but they definitely deliver on power and runtime.
I just rewatched the Torque Test Channel video on them over the weekend. Their testing showed that the bigger the tool, the bigger the gains in power. So if you're using the M18 1 inch impact gun, then these are the batteries for you. Also perfect for outdoor power equipment. They found the power increase to be negligible with smaller impacts and on a grinder when compared to the 6ah High Output.

That is a good deal, best I have personally done is (2) 8.0 and (2) 12.0 forge for 400 + tax from Acme tools. The Forge batteries do provide more power too for some tools, my Hackzall was noticeable more powerful the first time I used a Forge on it. With the tarrifs in place, this might be one of the best deals for Forge batteries. I am tempted by the M18 dual battery supercharger with two 8.0 Forge, already have four 12.0 Forge and use the 8.0 more often due to weight and size
That's about what I'm thinking of doing as wellBetter to have 2 8's and the supercharger than to try to hack a cheaper 12 or get the 12 +8 with rapid charger which I already have lol

Oh I totally need a rotary hammer, and some plumbing knowledge wouldn't hurt either, right about now.

I put an 8.0 forge in the water pump and it ran for well over an hour. That pump drains other batteries in minutes.I also ran the big chainsaw all morning one day on the 8.0 forge.

Got this for the circular saw. Mostly need it for cutting plywood sheets. Not sure if I will keep the battery, I have 3 Xc5's already.

I guess it was inevitable. You had to figure all those returns resulting in open box product were a ticking time bomb. People couldn't figure out how to cancel part of an order right after purchase, or at the very least do a pickup order and then return the unwanted item right there at the desk without leaving the store, so the associate wouldn't have to open the box and inspect the return. And resellers getting 20, 50, 100+ orders of hacked red and yellow tools delivered and stacked in their driveways probably didn't help.
Does it go to a reseller when you never picked it up? crazy!

I am new to Milwaukee, hence unaware of the discounts. Forge 8.0 + Forge 12.0 battery for $299 + tax, is this a good deal or wait for Black Friday?
Good deal

Regarding the HACK:
Why don't you just go in the store and pay cash without any type of account then go get a refund?

What are they gonna ban then?
Absolutely go and purchase in store. I did this yesterday.

because the deal is only available online
Not true, available in store. See pic attached of in-store display.

Walk in, get two items, receipt shows the price each ($114.50 if circular saw), then return the extra item next day or whenever.

So from what I read there are some stores that will not give a refund on a partial return for these BOGO purchases, so buyer beware. It doesn't matter how you paid for them. Unfortunately, like Costco when the returns become too rampant for lax return policies it ruins it for everyone else.
This has been going on for like 8 years now
