There is a reason professionals buy fluke. Construction quality. Accuracy. Range of measurement (e.g. 1000v). Variety of measurement (e.g. temperature). But if a $5 multimeter works for you, you likely don't have the need to upgrade.

It's more accurate, safer, will last forever. Most people are fine with a $15 multimeter. Flukes are like a professional tool where the cheaper multimeters are gadgets for hobbyists. Also Flukes have a great resale value. 20 year old Fluke multimeters on eBay still cost at least half of what they did back then.

The 17B+ is the Chinese version of whatever the main American one is I don't remember. But a decade ago this was a huge secret at around $50.
