Thank you so much for the information. Quick question what would you recommend for a DIYer?
With systems like these, it's best to run with the "big dogs" -- Ridgid (budget) and Milwaukee (premium). They've been around for the longest, with the most options. I can't speak anything good about DeWalt -- they've been around a long time too, but with so many variations. No idea what's compatible with what.
my minor complaints are build out system is 22" inches wide but the design wastes space -so the drawers are 16" wide and the vertical height is also at least 3-4" more than whats useable. thats more of a problem with this specific piece, and you can fit smaller power tools in the drawer no problem, but i bought 2 build out tool boxes to store my sawzall and bandsaw. the dolly is sold out so i attached a cabinet door to a 12x18 dolly and it works perfect. not sure i would want to move these around to job sites, t/he plastic drawer inserts are meh, stuff gets under the dividers just opening and closing them normally. an adhesive would solve that but create other issues. also you really have to buy like 3 or 4 of these becasue its not flat on top - although tstak is the perfect size to sit in the open space on top perfectly.
if i had to choose one, i would be torn because i like them for different reasons, but id probaly take the build out. note: you can get the versastack rolling tool chest for $50 and bins for $20 right now.

Thx. Hopefully the husky drawer dimensions would fit the Ridgid dolly, since I don't want to pay $100 for the Ridgid drawer box.

I agree that the size and design is not effective/efficient at all compare to DeWalt tough system, Milwaukee packout, flex and Klein. I have all these systems.
This Husky drawers' net space and dimension are smaller than any of the ones. I measured it. The Husky one only has 16' wide, MK, flex and Klein all have around 16.75". DeWalt has the widest at 17...
Having said that, it is not as usable as others, but from a "portable" and modular perspective, it is decent. It is hard to put anything larger in it, like circuit saw or even sawzall needs to take out battery and put diagonally..
It is not very good for tools storage, I find it more usable for parts storage, like EMT fittings, screws and other smaller stuff. I feel that it is more for garage storage than actual portable to job site.
