If you're a woodworker and you don't have a bunch of these...are you really a woodworker?

I'm a one arm/leg woodworker... so I live by the clamp. But the Irwin of today is just too cheaply made. They used to be great, but as with all things, it's time has come and gone. 😔

Do you have a recommendation for a quality clamp that won't break the bank?

I'd still say the Irwin clamps are good quality, you can do better than this price point if you buy a set.

If I had to start over on clamps they would probably all be Bremen trigger clamps from harbor freight. ~half the cost of the irwin on sale.

My best quick clamps are from Aldi - they're made in Germany and they were on clearance because who buys clamps at Aldi? Absolute units over the years.

Clamps are great I get mine when deals happen at harbor freight. The best kind are the pipe
Clamps, they are cheap and you can make them any size you want just grab the appropriate length pipe. I feel like they are the most sturdy clamps I ever use and I've tried them all.

I've been surviving off the harbor freight bremens as I've only seen these on sale ONCE in the last YEAR (that was actually in stock) and they're very close in quality, but the irwins just "act right."

It wouldn't let me add more than 3 to the cart
Probably for the best. I may already have too many clamps.

Lol I have those, they're like the exact same as my Keters that came with my work table. They got triggers on the small ones!

i left mine clamping something to a post under my covered patio and it developed rust on the metal parts. it never got rained on since it's covered but the moisture still made it rust.
For those that need more than 1, Lowe's have Jorgensen brand for cheaper. 2pk for $15 or 4pk for $30.

Just to clarify, you have one arm/leg or you only limit yourself to using one arm/leg for woodworking? Either way it's impressive. Irwin, like many companies, has tried to maximize profit by reworking their products. I don't think the clamps are too bad for quickie clamps. DeWalt makes some and they're good but the increased price isn't worth it to me. Masterforce, at Menards is pretty good and the price isn't too bad. I don't know if they're sold any more. If you're going for hold, and have two hands, Bessie and the like are good but they can take more coordination and move a bit more when tightening.
