Equivalent to Visible+ is Total 5G+, which you can get for $30/month on BYOD.

T-Mobile performs poorly on QCI7 (Mint and every other T-Mobile MVNO) when it's overcrowded, especially in places like Costco or a stadium. However, T-Mobile has the best raw download speeds when it's not congested. One reason for such performance is that almost all name-brand T-Mobile's own plans run on QCI6, as does Google Fi. So, every T-Mobile MVNO will have a bad time (except Google Fi) when congested.

Only a select few Verizon postpaid plans run on QCI7. All other MVNOs (Visible+, Visible+ Pro, Total 5G, 5G+, Spectrum) and Verizon Wireless run on QCI8. Then, at QCI9, all other deprioritized plans, like Visible Base, Total Base, and select US Mobile Warp, are found.

Just port your number to google voice so you keep your current number. Then sign up as a new customer and just forward from that new number to your number in gv and your good. Your able to skip around and get the best deals all the time. Just have to change your esim/sim and forward your new number each time.

Transfer your number somewhere cheap (like Helium Mobile, $5/mo). Cancel your Mint plan. Their system will delete your account almost immediately. For good measure, open a new account with a different email address. Transfer your number back in.

Mint doesn't have hotspot I recall which visible has. Visible also had $225 for 1 year for their visible + pro top plan.
Why would you say this?

all Mint Mobile plans include free mobile hotspot (tethering) with no caps except their premuim account which caps the hotspot at 20GB but you still get full speed.

Visible caps the speed at 15mb/s or 10m/s or 5 mb/s... depending on which plan but the actual hotspot is unlimited.

I'm considering porting my number into numbers barn once the plan is about up, then porting it back out to mint after buying the new plan. Might have to use a new account, (probably will), but it seems like the cheapest way to take advantage of the deal without changing numbers
I ended up using Hushed.com but I think numbers barn is cheaper.

The issue with these small carriers is that porting a number can take days... even over a week. Depending on the company, their backlog, how many employees, etc...

When I used Hushed... it took like 8 days before my number was ported. You see Mint had a promo just like this one but I needed a "new" phone number for my kid's first phone... sure enough, Mint's promotion was only if you transfer in from one of their competitors... so I spent the $4.99 and got my number from Hushed and then ported it into Mint. Again, this was kind of hell... but perhaps I was too impatient. In the end, the number got ported to Mint and I got that crazy promotion.

I had a Visible Pro and Visible Plus account for the wife and I and used Mint for 2 years. On visible, I have a lot of areas where Mint had full 5G bars. My wifi calling and also media messaging is hit and miss. My media messages in general get hung up or undelivered unless I'm on wifi. The only pro I have with Visible is the global pass which I use as I travel once a year. But if I had to do it again, I'd go back to Mint at this price

I think I spent like $9 from numbers barn but it was quick. Was able to port in and then out within a few hours if not overnight, can't remember exactly

When I was using it last year they didn't have it. Maybe they have now. Sorry I should do more research.

visible unlimited plan is $19 a month. This is $180 + $30 fees and taxes, comes to $210 which is almost $18 a month. so just $1 difference, paying month on month with flexibility of switching to other carriers any time, visible seems like a great deal. am I missing something?
Nope, not missing anything. Visible is the better deal and better service or you can also try us mobile which has great deals as well and you can choose which provider to use between att, T-Mobile or Verizon. Or you can use their multi network feature, where you can add a 2nd SIM card with a 2nd network for only $10 a month.

I switched to Mint from AT&T Prepaid a few weeks ago for their Galaxy S25 deal. Service has been great so far in the DFW area, the only hiccup I've had was during a youth sports tournament but my wife's US Mobile DarkStar network was also crappy, so I chalk that up to poor building design.
