It's frustrating, bc I need a 70" for my space, but all the models at this size are crap. Only one Qled option, and it's stupid expensive

How to tell if a tv is a crap or not? I'm still using a 49" 1080p non smart toshiba tv and don't feel any uncomfortable. Probably need to be placed side by side?

Anyone familiar with WebOS updates? Is the software on this TV already 3 years old, or will it update to the newest WebOS once connected?

I would assume it probably would need an update when connected to your internet, especially if it wasn't manufactured recently.

Do you know what firmware version it comes with?

The firmware automatically updates about once a week. The operating system is slow but the picture quality makes up for it. Quite satisfied with this tv. Purchased from Sam's about 6 months ago for $338.
