this seems like a better way to keep the food warm for a party then warming trays, can you set this to low and just put foil trays on top to keep food warm? anyone tried that?

This looks awesome, but I also can't help but wonder how functional it would actually be if you tried to use it as an actual griddle. You're still only working with 2000W of power here across a massive cooking surface. If you tried to put down a bunch of cold, wet food you'd just end up boiling/simmering everything.
This product would make more sense if it was a gas-powered unit with a griddle burner that could actually heat the entire cooking surface adequately. I'm sure that is the reason why it is being sold for such a massive discount.
But who knows, maybe it could work if you are judicious about how much food you put on there at once. Like maybe you have everyone around the table agree to only cook 1 piece of meat at a time using the part of the griddle that's directly in front of them.

Ah yes this takes me back to my childhood Thanksgivings.

Mom shushing sis behind the turkey, me adjusting our fake fruit display, and dad cooking up some traditional corn slices with garden salad on the ol long griddle

most griddles have like a coil doing like an S shape with hot/cold zones and does a poor job of spreading the heat around. I haven't used this one but be aware of the down sides to electric griddles. I use a large propane one almost daily and I live in MN and the cold half of the year is here now so have tried quite a few electric options Frown

Thats with most plugs only rated for 15 amps which is 1800watts. I would guess the same thing as it wont stay hot but probably just keep everything warm.

Just bought this since I've had this on my Amazon saved list for a long time.. But when you check out, they ask for a tip lmao.. This tipping culture is getting way out of f'n hand.

This one has a wine glass shaped element apparently. So the edges will be hot, middle less so, but maybe with proper preheat it'll be even
