This fits what I've been looking for although I'm not a fan of touch screen. I've seen mixed to more negative reviews of acer laptops, is that still the case?

At best this is going to drop to $1000. The biggest difference I see is screen quality.

Soo 100 more than the 258v model for just a marginally better processor? Or am I missing something


edit: seems like the display is 100 nits brighter

display is also 100% sRGB vs like 62% for the other one

Hello good SDers,
Any thoughts or suggestions on a better laptop with similar class (i.e. i9, GPU/NPU, 32 GB DDR5, TOPS > 45)?
I was impressed by Snapdragon models, but disheartened to find out about emulations modes and not all Windows Apps works. Maybe revisit this type in a few years.

This seems like a good deal for the specs. Anyone have any issues with this? I haven't seen very many reviews. I plan to get this for my daughter for college. She only has a Chromebook from her high school and we wanted to get her a PC laptop for dual enrollment classes. She doesn't game but was hoping she could play Minecraft every once in a while. She's not a serious player. I figured this should do the job. I realize a gaming laptop would be better but she likes the touchscreen as well. I don't see a lot of gaming laptops with touchscreen at this price point with similar specs.
