Avoid Aliexpress via Paypal. All, yes ALL, transactions are being processed by Paypal as cash advance! Resulting in Credit Card Issuer inflicting a cash advance transaction fee + accrual of daily interest as high as 28% APR! No way to resolve and all three companies (CC, AE & Paypal) will circle jerk the finger pointing of who is responsible with no solution. Reddit is exploding with many customers getting hit with these fees in the tune of 10's and even 100's of dollars. Avoid!!!

Paying the balance early in Pay Monthly won't violate the terms.

Remove your PayPal account from eBay payment first. Now after making a purchase, it will redirect you to PayPal, pick 'pay in 4' from there.

Hmmm.....this is really twisting my hand for Lego Rivendell at Target. That's like $100 off which seems pretty slick (since I can never seem to be the one to snag this set for $350+free shipping third party). Even better if I buy that Apple GC (which I have use for) and throw the $15 Target GC towards the Lego order.

I've already answered this multiple times. The answer is no all around. I tried it, and it only showed my bank account and Discover card as options to pay it off later, just as when I made my purchase, not my Chase card, which is my preferred payment.

Just spent $960 and immediately have 19,000 points pending. Worked like a charm! I feel like if it shows the points, we are good to go. Otherwise it's false advertising.

I think PayPal is really dumb here. Why tie the promotion to some dumb system that might or might not work like pay monthly or payin4? I kind of understand the pay monthly as they might make it back in interest, but any sane person would just pay that off after making the purchase and not incur any interest just to earn the cashback. They don't get anything out of this payin4 thing. Playing games on who and how many transactions can someone have or change stuff just like the wind blows, and who makes and cancels orders is just nonsense. It would be just easier if they earmark a certain amount of cash for this promo, and be done and over with when funds run out. they will get a tax write-off anyway. Another thing could have been to limit transactions per person to like 2 or a certain amount.
PayPal sure has left a negative impression on me, and I've had it for 22 years. I spent a long time putting together my Walmart order before I submitted it with Pay in 4 and was immediately canceled and soon locked out, despite earlier completing 3 successful Pay in 4 transactions the previous day or two.

And the website messaging support is worthless. I asked them to remove the cancelled transactions, as a guy did once before via phone, and they just tell me to wait 72 hours for the transactions to clear and don't address that Pay in 4 isn't available anymore. Well, it's getting close to 72 hours, so I'll see if they are gone tomorrow. Even if they are, I'll be surprised if Pay in 4 is available again (after the unusual activity email I got after multiple cancellations).

Could end early, not sure if waiting for Chase 5% is a good idea, and since you pay bi weekly, only 2 payments in Dec.
You can't use Chase for PayPal pay later services.

I have been reading the posts here, and it seems Walmart is cancelling a lot. Not sure why they are like that. I regard Walmart as the worse store there is, a freaking dump hence I never shop there. Here comes PP idiocy. Why would they care if the thing is cancelled? Just dumb. I have two transactions that went thru. One 3 days ago, and then they killed my payin4 due to some bestbuy shenanigans (did not check out the moment I added to cart and the payin4 disappeared). I left it alone, and the payin4 came back yesterday, so I got my second transaction in. Points posted for both. Now, I read about the available balance, and checked the app to show $800 available. I needed 300 more, so I went ahead and just paid one of the payin4 transaction (second one which I am going to keep. the first one I am going to return (already refused the shipment and is going back)). I am checking the app, and the available balance is nowhere to be found which I think it might be due to paying the payin4 early. The dumb part is why PP system thinks this matters. They do not get anything from payin4 other than merchant fees. They get no interest, and it does not matter whether the 0% loan they gave us gets paid the next day or in the next month. You cannot get out of payin4 as the payments will be made every week out of the card or bank account. Like you cannot skip and have them charge interest. So, it makes no sense. Whoever programmed this thing is utterly stupid. Just give us the promised cashback whether up to $250 or multiple until the earmarked money is spent. I am so tiered of dealing with PP.

I've had 3 types of pending in my account the last couple days:

1) Under activity - it has "pending" and shows "Pay in 4" and "Authorization" (these were actually purchases that were canceled by Walmart right when I ordered, but they are still there, hopefully to clear soon at the end of 72 hours)

2) Under activity - it has "completed" - vendor name, dollar amount, and x,xxx points pending. These were successful purchases.

3) I don't recall exactly where it showed it, but originally after I got those immediately cancellations, it showed "points pending" with no dollar amount. I no longer see that anywhere.

I'm not able to make more than two transactions. Is there any workaround? Its not over the limit, the outstanding balance across two plans is less than $200.

Anyone had their pay in 4 or pay monthly purchase declined? Going to try a lower purchase amount. How long does it show up again once declined?
