Best Buy has clearance stock on the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold 5G 256GB - Obsidian - (Unlocked) open box in excellent condition for $705.99 with shipping. Being a Best Buy open box item it is eligible to fall under their protection plans. The phone can be found cheaper used but without any true warranty or available coverage. It has three screens and a hinge so coverage is generally recommended. When this phone came out it was $1,799 and dropped around $1,199 at it's cheapest sale prices new.

I personally paired it with the Best Buy Total membership for peace of mind. Gives you another small discount at time of purchase as well as benefits such as 60 day return window. The Best Buy Total plan is also refundable within 60 days if not used.

Note: website does mention a $45 restocking fee if returned.

Glad to hear that! Mine comes Friday! I needed a new phone as my Pixel 9 Pro XL screen got the dreaded vertical green and purple lines on the display and I'm out of warranty and didn't opt for coverage with that phone.... Definitely get the coverage on the Fold! I'm only getting $150 trade in with the screen issue unfortunately, but at a $280 repair for the screen I guess that's fair enough!

Did you try to contact support trough chat? They extended the screen guaranty since it's a know common issues with the vertical line

Is this problem exclusive to the 9? or is it common for Pixel series?

Is there a return fee if you don't like the condition the item arrives in? Can't tell from the restocking fee section except for a few states.

Just ran into this same issue about a month ago. Google support basically told me there's nothing they can do other than charge me to replace the screen because it's out of warranty. The whole situation really pissed me off because they apparently extended the warranty window for pixel 8 to 3 years for this exact issue that they did not fix. I'm currently in the process of an extended warranty claim with AMEX so hopefully it'll be resolved in my favor soon because a second persistent vertical green line has appeared and I'm not really wanting to come out of pocket to get it fixed.

I would have jumped on this if it was available in my area though and picked up a warranty. Bummer. Hopefully there will be more 9 Pro Fold deals coming soon.

Does anyone know if you gain access to one shipped if you change your zip code?

Does anyone know if Best Buy will accept a Straight Talk locked iPhone 12 mini as a trade-in?

I tried talking to Google store and Google Fi support and had the same response, firmly but politely just out of warranty, out of luck with Google. Not even a courtesy credit or anything for their device having a failure at no fault to you so close to warranty. They did thank me for being a loyal three device google pixel user, Google Fi subscriber and original Gmail adopter.... 😂 Guess the company is too big to really have customer service. I told them not to finance devices for 2-3 years they only expect to last just over a year. They told me how I could provide that feedback in an app.... I already provided the feedback why do I need to do more work! Guess if I stick with Google it means ALWAYS needing insurance. Long gone are the days of long lasting phones!

Yeah it's really irritating. I've been buying roughly every other generation since the pixel 2 and use several Google smart devices in my home. I've considered switching phone brands but I hate Samsungs bloatware and don't really want to change ecosystems back to apple again. Just going to have to keep my eye out for a good open box or refurb deal because I have no interest on buying a brand new phone after a little over a year.

I was never a phone insurance man, but I think these days it's a necessity
