Are these prone to stick drift? (This is a real question. No sarcasm.) Thanks.

You may be better off buying a Nintendo pro controller on discount or used. I have not had issues with stick drift on the pro controller.

Never buy open box controllers. I once bought a NSW Pro controller open box from Walmart...Somebody managed to return it even though it looked like somebody's dog ate the left stick. The thumb pad was even completely missing.

Couldn't people just buy these then send them to Nintendo right away for free for refurbishment?

Can you replace them easily without soldering?

I think they're removable, can't remember

i have the same issue on my kid's - replaced joy cons and it does not help. it seems the metal guides they slide onto are slightly bent so the switch does not sense them properly. they still charge, but will only work if strategically tweaked while holding to make contact. very annoying. he just plays with them slid up about an inch.

anyone have a suggestion to fix?

i hope a replacement works for you :/

I bought broken Joycons before from eBay for around 20 dollars for a set before, and just sent them to Nintendo to repair. I didn't even bother to try and repair them. Nintendo fixed whatever was wrong with them for free.
