Edit: I forgot to mention that the original versions of this GPU suffered from the manufacturer defect known as thermal paste pump-out, which was corrected in later editions via PTM7950. However, there is no way to know, from my understanding, what version you'll receive, as nothing on the box or card verifies whether it is a new or old version. So, we'll have to contact PowerColor North American support directly via email at [email protected]. An official PowerColor representative (publicly identified as u/PowerColorSteven) on Reddit has confirmed this is the correct and only procedure. We must provide the card's serial number and request a check to see if it is from a batch that includes the factory-applied PTM7950 material because if it's old stock the cards will fail early on in their usage so we will need to do the upgrades ourself to cure the pump out defect if we get one that hasn't been upgraded.
