Rumor is the new model will come out in the spring or fall 2026. I have the mini 6 and been waiting to upgrade.

I have the 6th gen and also the 7th gen. Not much difference. Will wait hopefully for the 8th gen that is rumored to have an OLED

Will cost at least $600 for next gen. They will probably increase base storage to 256gb though

I have owned the ipad mini since gen 1. Very little difference between Gen 1 and gen 7, just incrementally slightly faster, but otherwise pretty much the same, So its not worth upgrading until possibly next gen. I have a gen 5, gen 6 and gen 7 at home and they all work about the same. So if you have an older gen, not clear if it is worth upgrading.
