But if you think you'll want more/higher quality ui cameras than what it can support, then you'd have to look at splitting the gateway and access point(s)
Ubiquiti is very much like Apple - they have an ecosystem that plays nice with each other, so you can manage everything from the same place, versus having to manage each part of your network individually. You do pay up front for that convenience though.

Regardless, this is a great entry drug to kick off a ubiquiti addiction.
Also, if your devices are 802.11ac, they will be using 802.11ac with the new router too. To get the most out of a new router you would need to make sure everything is 802.11ax / be.
Personally I just look for usable Wifi performance. If speed and latency are important I hook up a wire.

Though I'd return the flint 2 if you can and get the flint 3 which is on discount ATM.

IE: UCG-Fiber [ui.com] which is NOT on sale!

You can host your own server [ui.com] on a NAS or something... but it'll only be for the Network portion. Not Protect (for cameras) - you'd need a cloudkey or something else.
WoW, great catch. I didn't notice it is not the cloud version. (UCG vs UXG). Almost pull the trigger on this UXG-Fiber, but I really needed is UCG-FIber !!!

To me the UDR7 seems like a solid option if it works for you and your space isn't large enough to need additional APs. Otherwise, it is not really worth it to go the Unifi route unless you are some sort of networking enthusiast or really want to add more to the ecosystem.
