The PS5 Pro deal stands out as a strong way to cut the console price with Dell credits, Amex, cash back, and occasional PayPal Pay in 4 savings. The Pro is framed as the best upgrade for 4K setups that want smoother frame rates, extra storage, and a likely final hardware refresh before the next generation. The main cautions are the missing disc drive, possible need for a separate drive for physical games, and some discount stacks not always combining cleanly. Timing and stock also matter, since shipping estimates shifted and the bundle sold out and came back in stock.

I am opting not to do this because while it should not be reported to the credit bureau, according to ChatGPT, there is a chance it is reported even if paid on time, and some lenders might not be favorable on people who pay in installments. ChatGPT also noted that PayPal might inadvertently report a late payment even if it was paid on time. All in all, probably not worth the risk for me.
Using some natural intelligence, if a lender has the ability to loan to two separate people with all things being equal except that one person financed a small purchase and the other doesn't, that *might* play a role.
Here's a Wall Street Journal article discussing this with some snippets - https://www.wsj.com/personal-fina...?st=iUFk

Banks Hate 'Buy Now, Pay Later'-and May Penalize Its Users
Banks don't want you bingeing on "buy now, pay later" plans, and they say it might actually hurt your chances of getting approved for a mortgage or credit card.
Some of the popular point-of-sale loans from companies such as Affirm and Klarna will be factored into credit scores later this year when FICO rolls out its new scoring model. Using a loan to pay for a couch or a pair of pants in installments might improve your score if you keep up with payments, according to Fair Isaac FICO 3.93% Corp., the company behind the most widely used U.S. credit score.
Lenders are more wary. One credit union calls up customers who use BNPL and warns against it. A community bank scrutinizes loan applications more closely when it notices them in its underwriting.
FICO's new model will shed light on what has become a multibillion-dollar blind spot in the credit-reporting system. Because BNPL loans haven't widely been reported to credit bureaus.
For your example to be one of consideration, a person's debt ratio would need to be high and there be an excess amount of inquiries. There are too many other things to review than just having these installment loans. And you said "may," to someone else, the article also says "may penalize and might." so what are we really talking about.
And "a community bank" followed by the credit union wording is leaning toward small town organizations that would have the time to reach out regarding programs like Affirm/Klarna.
Don't let my response fool you, I can appreciate this being mentioned for those who over finance and need to read this.

Agreed I bought the PS5 nba 2k26 bundle Friday morning and posted it shortly after. Didn't want to wait and risk a sell out and at some point between Friday and now the bundle is showing as out of stock.
