Don't forget another $70 for a disc drive if you have any physical games you want to play. That's what's kept me from bothering.

That is a load of rubbish. I've been using PayPal payments for years and my credit score is over 850. Stop believing AI and use some natural intelligence instead. If you pay your bills on time it will never hurt your credit, in fact that's how you build it.

Community Reviews

The PS5 Pro deal stands out as a strong way to cut the console price with Dell credits, Amex, cash back, and occasional PayPal Pay in 4 savings. The Pro is framed as the best upgrade for 4K setups that want smoother frame rates, extra storage, and a likely final hardware refresh before the next generation. The main cautions are the missing disc drive, possible need for a separate drive for physical games, and some discount stacks not always combining cleanly. Timing and stock also matter, since shipping estimates shifted and the bundle sold out and came back in stock.

BTW, tons of merchants have it for the same price:Target, BestBuy, microcenter...
Hence the reason this may be a better deal given the Amex offer.

This is probably a good deal but way out of my price range. I miss when gaming was affordable. I guess the entry point is $400 and that doesn't come with a disc drive to play my PS4 physical games.
agree 100%. Sadly, will only get worse next gen. Ps6 will likely be around $1000. AI forcing prices of hardware components to the moon.

Extra $100 trade in where? Have a PS5 disc from launch day
I am very sorry for the late reply and it looks like someone answered thankfully, but yeah it was Best Buy. Made the total $300 trade in, which I think is pretty good as I believe it was $500 at launch, but haven't looked too hard at private party prices. Almost worth it to not get 50 messages of low ball $150 offers.

Thanks for that clarification. I thought of that too, and so went ahead and ordered it using the paypal pay in 4 plus the 10% off coupon. Counting the 20% cash back would have yielded more savings than the $100 amex credit.
Is the 10% off not available anymore? I email signed up using the given link for a new dell account. I don't see the 10% off anywhere during the checkout nor I received any 10% off coupon. Am I missing something?

I held out against the Pro but finally pulled the trigger with this deal. While I am annoyed it's basically a $50 price cut since they just raised the price a few months ago, the extra $100 on trade in plus the PayPal Pay in 4 pushed me over the edge.

I took out the 2TB NVME drive I put in the PS5 and moved it to the Pro and it recognized the games I had installed on it. Having now 4TB of space is also nice since I tend to install quite a few games between myself and the kids and jump between them depending what people want to play.

I wouldn't advise anyone stretch their budget for this, but if you like your current PS5 and since even if rumors are true the next gen is still a couple years away most likely and a Pro is likely to get better trade in (or private party) value at that point, now is probably one of the better chances.
Well this is interesting! I pulled the trigger on the pro last night - and already have a ps5, also upgraded to 2tb. So the pro has two slots and I can just move it over? I guess put the original drive back in the ps5?Still debating selling it or using it in the basement.

You may be having the same mistaken memory of expanding the PS5 storage I did. You don't replace the onboard 1TB, or you generally shouldn't be. The original PS5 has an expansion m.2 slot in addition to the onboard drive. So I took out my 2TB but it still had the original 1TB that it came with. I think that one is soldered but I'm not sure. So I took the 2TB and added it to the same expansion slot on the Pro. I also thought I had replaced the original 1TB and was trying to remember where I put it then it came back to me it was never removed.

You are just in time to save me from digging for my old drive! I've also swapped drives in a legion go and a steam deck and was sitting here thinking "ok- where did I put the ps5 drive!"

The other thing I haven't seen anyone comment on is that I earned enough rewards, once I received my shipping notification, I was able to order a controller which are on sale for the and only paid $.18 so I got the pro and a a controller once my Amex credit clears for $525 after taxes. Great deal

The Xbox One X was Microsoft's equivalent of PS4 Pro back in like 2017, and it did not get updated further.

PS5 Pro will not get updated further. This is as good as it'll get before next generation in 2027.
Betcha it does!!! lol (the past ones were, and there's already the "pretty valid" (lol) rumor that an updated "pro" will be out in Dec/Jan)

The past ones were...how? You had Xbox One X and PS4 Pro. There were not other models.
