For this price, try the Vantrue. I just got 2 of them, really good support and really good camera.

I got the non pro version just the other day for $99. Good quality video and was easy to install. Although the best place for me to put it was in the dot matrix pattern behind the mirror, the sticky pad would not stay on it. But I had an ezpass on the same area stay up with no issues for a couple of years with the Velcro pads that came with it. So got the same kind at lowes, 3m Scotch dual lock Velcro, and worked perfectly for the camera. Like the small form factor.

do u see any reason to spend $75 extra to get the pro version ? am guessing the non-pro version is good enough, right ?

They both seem pretty good. I bought this one and gave it to a friend, she likes it and has been using it for over a year. I ended up buying the same Viofo A229 also on the front page for myself about 6 months ago. I like it a bit better. But I don't think you can really go wrong with either. I do think the Viofo is more compact and better looking.

Did you bought the 4k+4k or 4k+2.5k? Do you think rear 2.5k is good enough? How's the Vantrue app? Is it good?

I have the N5S, N4S Pro, and the E1—honestly they're all great cameras, it just depends on what you need. I got the E1 because i was thinking to place it with the N4S to have a great quality inside, i havent place it yet.

For my long family SUV, I wanted full coverage inside plus front and rear, so I went with the N5S for that 360-style setup. For my daily driver, I use the N4S Pro, and the day/night quality is excellent. If you only care about front + rear (no interior cam), then the Vantrue 4K 2-channel is a really solid option.

As for the app, it works well, just remember to disconnect CarPlay or Android Auto. My CarPlay keeps kicking me off the connection, so I had to "forget" that network on my phone whenever I use the app. A small trick: you can also use an iPad or a spare phone just for camera access if you don't want to deal with that. The app isn't perfect, but it's definitely good enough for downloading and reviewing footage.

And one tip—whatever model you get, update the firmware immediately. Also, download the videos when you want to review them, because streaming them in-app lowers the quality for faster playback.

This deal seems to be over.

Confusing marketing as the ROVE R2-4K PRO, which one might think is the same but without the rear cam, seems to have a lower spec sensor - so the only way to get the newer sensor seems to be to buy the dual, whether you need a rear cam or not.

From my research the reason to get the new sensor which is in the pro is for real 4k and if you do a lot of night driving. The back camera will also be better.

I wasn't even looking for a rear camera just front since a lot of what I read was it wasn't really necessary to have rear camera. But at $99 the rove was a similar price to other single cams, but had a better sensor in the front camera so the rear was just an added bonus. I'm happy with it, don't see any need in returning it and paying $75 more for the pro.

I had the non pro version brought on prime day for $99, it's not really 4k, I can't even read the number plates of the front car sometimes(which is within 15-20meters)
