FWIW, you can get "real" spouts for a couple bucks apiece on Temu and AliExpress if you buy a multi-pack.

Yeah, hadn't even checked Amazon because cheap plastic crap is usually cheapest directly from China, but just ordered a 5-pack for $7 from Amazon (https://a.co/d/a8oJAPK). Crazy.

You can get *good* steel jerry cans but they are going to be $50. And 4 of these for the same price

I have 5 of these. They don't take that long to fill. They don't leak. Yes the nozzle is incredibly annoying for anything but a car. Or maybe a tractor. If you are going to fill small power equipment this will be a pain in the ass/get something smaller

I put an automatic fuel transfer pump on my can. It makes filling up my 2-stage snowblower much easier when snow blinded.

Allegedly, one can remove the nozzle assembly from the can and depress the nozzle. On the screw end portion you will see an o-ring. Remove the o-ring and the nozzle will separate into two pieces, then remove the spring and reassemble, not forgetting to replace the o-ring, otherwise it will leak. Then when you press down the nozzle it will stay in the open position until you manually close it. Not that I would ever do this because I blindly trust our benevolent CARB overlords.

VP Racing fuel jugs. I would never EVER use these with the "safety nozzle" on them. Absolute garbage.

Who remember when you could've filled the container for less than this price.

It's not that much more expensive now. I can find gas for around $2.75 near me, which works out to $13.75 for 5 gallons. Gas prices have gone up less than the overall inflation over the last 40 years or so.

I used my Kroger fuel points and got gas for $1.29/gal a few months back. 35 gallon limit, and used it all.

You can fill this today for less than $13. Gas is below $2.60 a gallon in a few states.

I got some metal cans on ebay about 10 years ago. The gaskets for the nozzle cap on mine are available on Amazon and probably ebay. Found that after 2-3 years of use they tend to not seal very well and leak gas or fumes. Fixed right up like new, but I still use a electric fuel pump to remove the fuel, because the metal can nozzles suck and besides they are heavy.
