Good deal, got one! You can also get it with 5Ah battery for $279 if this is more appealing to you.

First, OP I recommend adding that this is brushless which is a plus.

Second, this is just my experience, I do not know if it was an issue with the chainsaw or just cheap chains but I bought this on a previous Amazon deal looking to get a larger saw than the other 2 I already have. I think it was $260. I was able to make about 5 cuts until it just stopped cutting (yes, I checked the tension and it was fine. yes, I've had other chainsaws and know how to tension it). I reached out to Amazon first and they gave me $40 and recommended using some of that money to replace the chain. I tried that and it still didn't cut. So, I reached out to Ego for help and they offered to replace it BUT didn't have any 18" saws and offered to replace it with a 20" (bonus!). I received that saw and it worked as expected. I then returned the extra chains I bought and got a full refund. So, I got a 20" brushless chainsaw w/ battery for $220. Even though I had the hassle and wasted some time, Ego's support was very good and I'm happy with the end result (more for less!).

This would be a good price is this wasn't a garbage chainsaw. Mine worked for a couple months and then started leaking oil when not in use. The electrics are fine and I like Ego equipment, but chainsaws are a different animal. If you want an electric chainsaw spend a bit more for a high-quality Husqvarna or Stihl.

I've had similar problems with mine. Maybe I should reach out to support. My bar went bad and I replaced that, which fixed the tensioning. I've also changed the sprocket because I noticed some dentation from the chain. After putting the new one, it did the same thing again. Made sure everything is oiled and greased up. Putting a new chain, I get a few cuts, then it just stops. I've had it sharpened and same thing. Not cutting anything too difficult. When I first got it, it was working just fine. Now it's being dumb even after replacing the parts and cleaning it. I'm no chainsaw expert by any means but pretty sure it shouldn't be doing this.
