I got an iPhone 13 Pro 256gb for free basically through Verizon. But I was promised a battery with at least 90% health and got one with 82%. Which wasn't good. I priced out how much apple would charge to replace it, and Verizon covered the cost of a new battery. Score!

You will be surprised how much value iPhones carry. I had a cracked screen iPhone 14 Pro - with the crack near the frame with no usability impact. I put it on FB for $475. There was a local photographer who wanted it for $450 as a secondary device since he didn't care about the crack. All he made sure was no damage to cameras and battery health. I was honestly thinking about only getting 400 or less. The lure of iPhone is in the utility and commercial potential. A creative person who uses it to make money, is willing to compromise in areas that does not impact them. Same goes for MacBooks. My battered iPhone X sold for $100 cash. There is some mass psychological appeal for Apple products which I don't fully understand.
