- Phone sales tax- due at sign up.
- Monthly Taxes. Like someone mentioned can be as high as $9/line per month
- Activation fees. Apparently $40 per line, but maybe you can get waived?
- Verizon has historically said allow 1-2 billing cycles for discounts to appear. Well, if they don't appear be prepared to spend multiple calls and hours to try and get them to honor their agreement.
- This service plan is the lowest unlimited so don't get the ultra wideband (faster 5g) or hot spot.
- to take full advantage of the discount you have to keep the lines for 3 years. That's a long time to be locked in. Theoretical scenario: if you pulled all 4 lines out after 2 years would owe around $1500 for the phone pay offs.
While a good price, I think they are trying to get you to sign up, and then bc you'll be frustrated with the lower plan will upgrade at a significant cost ($40/line instead of $25).
This reddit post [reddit.com] explains data prioritization for the 3 major carriers and the MVNOs on them.
Fed Universal Service Charge: $0.41
Regulatory Charge: $0.21
Admin & Telco Recovery Charge: $3.78
CA State 911 Surcharge: $0.41
CA State 988 Surcharge: $0.08
CA Universal Service PPP Fee: $0.90
Emerg Comm Acc Tax: $3.22
City UUT: $0.28
Total charges per line = $9.29
It's still a really good deal if you're in the market for new iPhones

I bought 5 lines, the total was supposed to be $180+30 fees - $20 overall discount - $50 autobill pay. So $160/month Got all the devices, and 4 activated today $100+$25 fees/month. The 5th line didnt activate, and deactivated from Total.
So I called in. After 2 hours, they put the device on my account, without the 5th line. (Now my bill is +$36 every month. Some other service rep answers. After another hour, gets the line added +$40 on my first bill and +$35 going forward. Now my bill is $125+35(5th line)+36(5th phone)+40 (act)= $236. My second bill is $196.
The fifth line and phone are not attached to each other, and I am not getting the bill credit for the phone. But the service rep says "Not to worry, it will be fixed on your second bill"?
Is that trust worthy?
I guess I am going to call back tomorrow to make sure that the 5th line is attached to the 5th phone, and that I am getting the bill credit for it. Man the new customer experience is terrible. Worse than buying a used car at a dealer

Then I asked if I could upgrade my individual line to a higher plan while traveling abroad. The rep says, "Yes, if your phone is unlocked." Brilliant. Thanks. He knows I have a new account and a new iPhone. My phone is locked for 60 days, and I just wanted a straight answer about whether upgrading affects the credits/promo on account. Apparently, giving customers basic info is too much work.
If you're in sales and don't pitch, don't guide, and don't inform, you're literally wasting space. Customers don't care that you're on the clock for eight hours. They come for help—not to be ignored while you wander around like a robot. And then, in a few years, when the company starts closing stores, these same people will cry about getting laid off. Seriously, get it together, Verizon.

There a lot of fraud sellers who will pay for one or two months after sale and stop payment. Carrier then blacklists the phone.
Only time one should buy the phone from private party is, if it is going to be used outside US since blacklists are not universal so phone will work outside USA.
Chatted with an agent and he said he could not remove them after the order has gone through, only if I order through him. Any workarounds?

And it all showed up immediately, rather than waiting for my bills to generate.
