Couple of caveats - if you decide to foil wrap something in your smoker while it cooks you will no longer get temp readings for that probe... At least mine stopped doing so with the base station even within 5 feet of the probes. Probably a downside of this whole category of products vs wired, but something I forgot to consider until I foiled a turkey breast I had smoked for thanksgiving.
One of the two probes in mine stopped charging properly after it's first use, which is a problem with integrated/rechargeable batteries. Turns out the contact pressure with the charging pads wasn't quite firm enough and I had to remove and reinsert the probe a few times before it would charge. Doesn't give me long term hope.
The app requires an email/account registration to work, and when I tried it before thanksgiving their registration servers were broken so I was effectively locked out of using it entirely. Seems like a big risk if you value this feature as who knows how long "yet another randomly named Amazon brand" is going to be around? There is no reason this product should require an online registration/account to function, there are no persistent online services required for the probes/base to talk to the app via bluetooth... it's purely a way to scrape your contact details and a big risk that this feature would go away when their sketchy authentication servers blow up again.
The company responded quickly to my review and refunded me for the product even though I indicated I'd be fine returning it... so I guess kudos for that. I'd look elsewhere for another wireless meat probe though.
In for one. I have a Thermoworks wired dual probe that I use right now. 1st world problems but wires are such a pain. I've been eyeing different wireless options. Thermoworks system as great as it is, would be $275. The closest I see to this price is Chef IQ at Costco for $80. This has some advantages but the Chef IQ has a 1000 degree ambient sensor. Little concerned these 750 degree max would be dangerous in a grill.

I believe the G2 model is rated 932 degrees. The older P2 model is rated 750.

The G2 used to include the same probes as the more expensive Typhur Gold models (parent company of Thermomaven), which were rated up to 932F. Those probes had an all black top. It looks like they recently swapped those out for these inferior 752F probes, which have a black and silver top.

The all black ones were cracking and falling apart. These are a better design. And the Typhur Gold , the higher model are the all metal design like this. However these are only rated to 750 and some reason the Typhur are 950. Maybe they just changed the number so the thermomaven wouldn't undercut the Typhur.
