Magenta Military - 8 Lines (2 Free) - They said I do not qualify for this month's free line promotion.

However, after speaking with their supervisor, the rep said they could offer me a free line for a year and that I could call at the end of each year and they would reapply the promo to make it free again for another year. They will also give me a free phone with the 2-yr installment plan and $10 activation fee.

Anyone else ever been offered something like this? The obvious issue is the potential they won't honor it and will begin charging after the year. Then if I have the installment plan, I'm kind of locked in for the second year.

I stopped by the TMO booth in Sam's Club and they said they've never heard of any one year promotions like that.

How come no one is going the Costco route? I remember if you open a line and qualify for the free line at the Costco kiosk (at certain Costco's they have t-mobile), you also get a Costco shop card out of it. Usually about $100. You may be able to also get SIM card activation waived and if you go to t-mobile store to pick up a SIM card (Costco t-mobile kiosk charges 7.50 for physical sim) and bring it to Costco then you don't charged at Costco.
Because they can easily mess it up.

Like all offers, there are restrictions and no sales representative is gonna spend time to look for everything for you. Doing this over call/chat with T-Mobile itself is not straight forward.

Even if you tell them everything, the prompts are such, they will select something that will add some add-on subscription/charges for this Free Line. The only good thing is they do revert them if you call them about it but still not as straight forward.

Keep checking your bills for 1-2 days for any unexpected charges and for this Free Line, make sure you see the correct promotion added and visible in your account

Where does it show on the app ? And did u combine this offer with pixel 10 ?
I did not combine with any other offer.

It is right there in tlife (Apple app edition) in the home section at the top. It is still there actually.

It didn't show up for me until about 2pm EST on the 11th.

That's correct, if you're on Simple Choice. SC plans have taxes and it's around $5ish per line
It's $5 per existing line? So if I have a family plan with 4 people and get 1 free line, how much will my bill be higher after the free line?

My free line was not added $5. My other lines each got additional $5.
If I have a family plan with 4 people and I get the free line, are you saying that my next bill could be $20 more due to the free line? Since you said each line got added $5 more??

I started with 3 lines. I got 5 free lines over the years that I added my brother, his wife and 2 kids and we all split the bill. I got 1 account just sitting there for when I eventually find a wife.

Would I do it again? Absolutely, what if I have a kid one day? What if I want a 2nd line for whatever reason? If it's free, who cares?
Was there no taxes and fees at all when you added the free line? I added a free line during the last promotion and my total bill went up $10. Despite them saying there is no change because the free line is free, they said the taxes for the other existing lines went up and that cannot be controlled because those are government surcharges or something

ty! hmm I don't see it on tlife app.
called tmobile rep and he confirmed it is there on my account but he cannot order the BYOD line. he can apply promo code after I order it for $35 credit. didn't want to risk and messup my bill.
was at costco and she sees nothing on acct.
I will try to add the line in tmobile store if it works.

If one wants to replace an existing paid line with an existing free line than is the recommendation to wait 90 days before looking for new free lines to add to the plan?

The offer terms for this Free Line says, this Line will be eligible for Device Offers as applicable on Experience/Experience More plans

So while the Line itself doesn't cost you (except for Taxes), check for other offers

I paid $5 for each sim card because e-sims weren't as common yet. other than that no, my bill did go from $120-$140 when a rep messed up my promos once and they couldn't fix it. now it's $156 because of an uppage of fees they started early this year (I'm magenta and didnt get it when rates were locked for life).

YMMV...

Went to the local Costco T-Mobile kiosk and inquired about the offer. The CSR looked up my account and it is not eligible.

I have the Essential 4 line plan.

I don't recommend being greedy when it's obvious you don't qualify. If they change your plan just to squeeze in that line, you're going to have headaches for months to get your legacy plan and discounts / perks back. I would never attempt to add a line, go for a phone promotion if I don't qualify unless I'm really qualified or I'm on their latest modern plan
