Respect your opinion and would like to offer another without disagreeing with you, but the Pro 2 (never had a chance to try the 3) is one of my absolute favorite controllers. It's compatible with everything, it fits great/perfectly in my hand, the Pro 2 definitely has Hall Effect sticks too. I think the Ultimate 2C is a great controller but I think for people who like the feel of the Nintendo Pro controller (1st), this controller is awesome!

I have several 8Bitdo controllers, including this one. Most of their controllers are made very well and are a great value. This particular controller I absolutely hate. The START button is far too close to the ABXY buttons, and I would frequently hit the START button when playing games like Smash Bros. For the same price you can get the 8Bitdo Ultimate 2C controller, which has Hall Effect sticks and a much better layout.

Is there anything I need to worry about when using "Switch controllers" on a Switch 2?

And would you say this is better than the 2C?

Good news: this deal is for the Hall Effects version for anyone interested. I already own this controller (2x) besides the Pro 3.

This controller probably needs a firmware update to work with the Switch 2. Both of my 8bitdo controllers purchased this year (Pro 2 and SN30 pro) needed updating, but have been flawless with the new Switch.

Do these pair well with Tesla for my kid to play games in the back seat?

Yes.
I don't remember what mode I used, but it works well in my Model Y.

Regarding the Pro 2 vs 2C, I have both and the 2C joysticks are giving me false readings after about 6 months of use. Also, the joysticks would sometimes pop out during intense gameplay (super smash). I would not buy the 2C again.

The light grey one is $42, but there is a coupon to take $10 off, making it $32. You can buy multiple and the coupon applies to each controller. Not sure if that is available to everyone, but I saw it as of 12/15/25 @ 845 AM MST.

Agreed, best damn controller ever. It's a meld of my two all time favorite controllers. Like S-Nes and PlayStation One controllers had a baby. I own a V1 and V2.

I don't necessarily respect the other person's opinion, I get the impression they're a button masher 😁. Practice thumb control lady's and gents!

That said, gotta use common sense, if you've used controllers over the years you're likely going to have a preference leaning toward one of the major brand styles and even year of style for said brand. This one is a meld of two classics as I mentioned. It's d-pad IMHO is up there second only to hori fight pad.

This one requires a fw update to work with switch 2, like another said. It cannot wake the switch 2 from sleep. I don't have one but apparently the pro 3 and ultimate 2 can now wake the switch 2 from sleep.

Hmm, I only got $4 off with the coupon, not $10.
