OK I bit.
Beats the BF deal by $10 and I was highly considering it for $500. I was preferring the Staples deal with bigger drive and touch screen for $50 more (than the previous $500 price) but none near me and it's in store only.
Took a look at various deals at best buy, and tons of open box deals. Many better machines than this.
But end of the day, this laptop checks most of the boxes for me, and is as cheap as a modern machine can get in new condition. Plus, it has a number pad, which I highly appreciate.
This seems as slick as I can get.

Update: I got the laptop and I like it. Being critical, the build quality is so-so. There's a lot of flex in the frame for something that is aluminum. OK, fine. But the weight seems on the heavy side for something that is so thin and flexible. But it's a sub $500 consumer grade laptop, I pretty much expected all of that. Screen brightness is what you'd expect too. Its fine for indoor use.
The keyboard does not feel great to use, and the buttons of the track pad are pretty meh. Those two are worse than I expected, but again its a cheap laptop so I'm not surprised.
Its a very capable laptop and there's no buyers remorse here. Great for students and any budget use.
Also FYI, Linux works well on it too if that's more your jam.

Damn good deal on this behemoth! Tempted to get one. I got a HP victus last year with a 4050 rtx and threw in 64gb ram and a 2tb ssd. I hate the battery life though. Is this better lol

I'll bite when it's 14 inch
No it's not and that's why it's never really worth getting gaming pc unless you really need the portability bc in the used market they sell for very cheap bc after a bit of use they go down

I got this for $325 open box but haven't picked up yet. Haven't kept up with hardware so I can't tell which is the better buy overall. Light-medium gaming, excel are the main use cases

https://www.bestbuy.com/product/d...ition=good

Can anyone help chime in?
Only good part about this is that it 14" other than that this one should be better as it is the 7 series for cheaper and not the 5

Oh but for 325 sorry I clicked website first then it shouldn't be bad as I bought the open box of this laptop and it gives a lot of screen issues lowkey so yours is better brand

VIPoutlet has this for $371 in "New Damaged Box" condition.

The listed specs are wrong, but the model number matches up based on Walmart's business shopping page

Does Wal-Mart credit for price drops? Chat doesn't seem to think so. Purchased less than 10 days ago @ $500 and now it is $440.Edit: Called Walmart CS which has been AI shitified. Walmart doesn't do price adjustments after purchase even when less than 10 days. They would rather I return it and reorder the item which involves many more wasted resources than just crediting my card. Are you fking shitting me!?!
Usually a credit card has price protection

Is all of that worth $50?
That is exactly the thought process of Walmart. They know that making it more complex will eliminate half of the refund requests.

Offer my two cents - grabbed a Omni on Best Buy deal and had to return it due to the absolutely atrocious keyboard. I heard people talk about it but man is it terrible in person.
Can you be more specific? Which model/version was it? Haven't noticed anything egregious on my unit.

I'm not sure, maybe the latticeless keyboard wasn't to their liking. I just bought one of the AI 350 / 24GB / 1TB 14" models, and I think the keyboard is fine. Then again, I got through dozens of laptops each year, and I'm used to this style.

Yah, like I said, the specs are listed wrong. VIPoutlet tends to do that on their items. Even Walmart's listing is wrong with ram showing as DDR4 when it's actually LPDDR5x

Go off the model number and cross reference

Kind of like when they listed phones as unlocked...but they're not. And more than once.

I bought one of these and had to return it. Someone had, at a minimum, taken it out of the box and set it up. They didn't repack the charger like a new one, and it was missing some of the plastic bags. The laptop would freeze randomly. I thought it might get better after doing an update but it was bricked in the morning.

I'm trying the VIP outlet and will say if it's the same as the Walmart one I ordered already
